【브레이크뉴스 경산】진예솔 기자=경북 경산시가 전국 중·고등학생과 동일 연령의 청소년을 대상으로 만화·웹툰 창작 실력을 겨루는 경연대회를 연다.

경산시는 청소년 창작 인재를 발굴하고 지역 문화예술 활성화를 위해 ‘제2회 경산 만화·웹툰 창작 경연대회’를 개최한다고 7일 밝혔다.

이번 대회는 개인 참가뿐 아니라 4명 이내의 팀 단위로도 참여할 수 있다. 참가자는 캐릭터 창작, 또는 N컷 만화 중 한 가지 부문을 선택해 출전하게 된다.

예선 접수는 이달 23일까지 구글폼을 통해 진행된다. 예선 주제는 ‘빛나는 경산의 미래’로 정해졌다.

예선 심사를 거쳐 약 20개 내외의 작품이 본선 진출작으로 선정된다. 본선 경연은 오는 10월 17일, 경산 만화축제 현장에서 치러질 예정이다.

본선에서는 행사 당일 현장에서 공개되는 주제를 바탕으로, 참가자들이 4시간 내에 즉석에서 직접 작품을 완성해야 한다.

시상은 총 7개 작품에 이뤄진다. 대상 1점에는 200만원이, 각 부문별 최우수상에는 80만원, 우수상에는 40만원, 장려상에는 20만원의 상금이 수여된다. 본선 참가자 전원에게는 별도의 참가상도 주어진다.

본선에 진출한 작품들은 경산 만화축제 현장에서 전시된다. 또 향후에는 경산시의 문화 및 홍보 콘텐츠로도 활용될 계획이다.

경산시 관계자는 “이번 경연대회가 청소년들에게 자유로운 상상력과 창의력을 펼치며 새로운 가능성을 발견하는 기회가 되길 바란다”고 말했다. 이어 “전국의 많은 청소년들이 참여해 문화도시 경산을 널리 알리는 계기가 되길 기대한다”고 덧붙였다.

In the finals, participants must complete their works on the spot within four hours, based on a theme revealed on-site on the day of the event. Awards will be presented to a total of seven works. The Grand Prize winner will receive 2 million won, while the Best Excellence Award winners in each category will receive 800,000 won, Excellence Award winners 400,000 won, and Encouragement Award winners 200,000 won. All finalists will also receive a separate participation award.

The works that advanced to the finals will be exhibited at the Gyeongsan Comic Festival. Furthermore, there are plans to utilize them as cultural and promotional content for Gyeongsan City in the future.

A Gyeongsan City official stated, "We hope this competition will serve as an opportunity for youth to unleash their free imagination and creativity while discovering new possibilities." The official added, "We look forward to seeing many young people from across the country participate and help promote Gyeongsan as a city of culture."
