달성군은 4일 서경현 신임 부군수가 취임하고 본격적인 업무에 들어갔다고 밝혔다.
서 부군수는 2003년 제8회 지방고시에 합격하며 공직생활을 시작했다. 이후 대구광역시와 중앙부처 등에서 주요 업무를 담당하며 경제정책과 산업 발전, 미래혁신 분야에서 전문성을 넓혀왔다.
대구시 창조경제본부 경제정책과장을 비롯해 미래ICT국장, 미래혁신정책관 등을 지내며 지역경제 활성화 정책과 첨단산업 육성, 혁신정책 추진 과정에 폭넓게 참여한 경험도 갖췄다.
달성군은 대구 제2국가산업단지를 중심으로 로봇과 모빌리티 등 미래산업 분야 기업을 유치하고 산업 생태계를 확대하면서 지역의 산업 경쟁력 강화에 힘을 쏟고 있다.
이에 따라 경제·산업 분야에 대한 서 부군수의 경험과 광역행정 역량이 달성군의 미래산업 육성 전략을 구체화하고 기업 유치 및 지역경제 활성화를 뒷받침하는 데 긍정적인 역할을 할 것으로 군은 기대하고 있다.
특히 산업단지 조성과 기업 성장 기반 확대 등 주요 현안에서 부서 간 협업을 강화하고 대구시 등 유관기관과의 정책 연계를 높이는 데에도 힘을 보탤 것으로 전망된다.
달성군 관계자는 “서경현 부군수의 다양한 경제·산업 분야 행정 경험이 지역의 산업 경쟁력을 높이는 데 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다”며 “미래산업 육성과 기업 지원을 통해 달성군이 대구의 새로운 성장거점으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 행정력을 집중하겠다”고 말했다.
