대구시는 추석을 앞둔 9일 산격청사 접견실에서 대구사회복지공동모금회와 iM뱅크가 함께하는 지역 취약계층 지원 행사를 열었다고 밝혔다.
이날 행사는 추경호 시장의 명예회장 추대식을 시작으로 iM뱅크의 온누리상품권 기부, 대구사회복지공동모금회의 추석명절 지원사업 전달 순으로 진행됐다.
대구사회복지공동모금회는 이날 추 시장에게 명예회장 추대패와 사랑의 열매를 전달했다. 신홍식 모금회장과 홍보대사 워효 작가도 행사에 참석했다.
특히 대구 시민들의 일상을 소재로 ‘대구툰’을 선보여 온 워효 작가는 추 시장의 캐리커처를 직접 그려 전달해 눈길을 끌었다.
대구시는 시장의 명예회장 추대를 계기로 지역사회 각계각층의 나눔 참여가 확대되는 계기가 마련될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
이어진 기부금 전달식에서는 강정훈 iM뱅크 은행장이 1억1,000만 원 상당의 온누리상품권을 모금회에 전달했다.
기부금 가운데 9,000만 원은 저소득 주민 900세대에, 2,000만 원은 장애인 거주시설 20곳에 각각 지원된다. 추석 명절을 앞두고 경제적 어려움을 겪는 주민과 복지시설의 생활 안정에 활용될 예정이다.
대구사회복지공동모금회는 이날 전달된 iM뱅크 기부금을 포함해 총 16억8,000여만 원 규모의 추석명절 지원사업도 추진한다.
지원 대상은 저소득 주민과 쪽방 생활인, 노숙인 등 1만4,700여 세대와 복지시설 184곳이다. 모금회를 통해 마련된 성금은 명절을 앞두고 도움이 필요한 주민과 시설에 전달된다.
이번 행사는 추경호 시장이 모금회 명예회장으로 추대된 이후 처음 마련된 지역 나눔 행사라는 점에서도 의미를 더했다.
추경호 대구시장은 “사랑의열매 명예회장이라는 역할을 맡게 돼 뜻깊게 생각한다”며 “지역사회 곳곳으로 나눔의 가치가 확산될 수 있도록 함께 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
이어 “추석을 앞두고 전달되는 지원이 어려운 이웃들에게 따뜻한 위로가 되고 생활에 실질적인 도움이 되기를 바란다”고 밝혔다.

The support targets approximately 14,700 households—including low-income residents, those living in *jjokbang* (tiny, single-room dwellings), and the homeless—as well as 184 welfare facilities. Funds raised through the organization will be distributed to these residents and facilities in need ahead of the holiday.
