Daegu University is joining forces with key partner companies of the Samsung Electronics Pyeongtaek Campus to accelerate talent development in the AI and semiconductor sectors and boost student employment support.

On the 9th, Daegu University held a working-level meeting at the Pyeongtaek Employment and Welfare Center with representatives from key partner companies—Able Co., Ltd., HT Solution Co., Ltd., and Carewell Solution Co., Ltd.—to discuss strategies for cultivating talent and supporting employment in the AI and semiconductor fields.

Attendees included Daegu University President Yoon Jae-woong and Vice Dean of Student Affairs Song Ja-hyun, alongside company representatives, Daegu University alumni currently employed at these firms, and HR managers from each company.

The meeting was organized to proactively address the rising demand for semiconductor personnel—driven by the expanded operations of the P4 and P5 lines at the Samsung Electronics Pyeongtaek Campus—and to explore practical ways to link university education with employment opportunities.

Key topics also included follow-up measures for the "Customized Employment Services for High School Students" agreement signed last year between Daegu University and the Ministry of Employment and Labor, as well as plans to expand industry-academia cooperation.

Participants shared insights on the latest trends in the AI and semiconductor industries and the direction of digital education, while discussing various ways to develop curricula tailored to industry needs. Proposals were made to establish diverse industry-academia cooperation models—such as practical training by industry experts, on-site corporate mentoring, recruitment briefings, networking with current employees, and expanded internship and field training programs—to ensure a seamless transition from education to employment for students.

Additionally, the group reviewed concrete implementation plans for joint research and projects between the university and companies to enhance students' technical capabilities and link these efforts directly to future recruitment. Building on these discussions, Daegu University plans to align its semiconductor-related education with actual corporate hiring needs and actively cultivate talent equipped with the practical skills required by the industry.

Daegu University President Yoon Jae-woong stated, "I am deeply grateful for the strong hiring commitment shown by key partner companies of Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek Campus," adding, "Daegu University will also do its utmost to strengthen the competitiveness of the national semiconductor industry and foster future talent." He further remarked, "We will continue to provide active support based on close cooperation so that our students can grow into semiconductor experts who lead South Korea's high-tech industries."
