【브레이크뉴스 칠곡】이성현 기자=칠곡군 카드형 지역화폐인 ‘칠곡사랑카드’를 오는 21일부터 지역 우체국에서도 발급받을 수 있게 된다.

칠곡우체국은 지역경제 활성화와 주민들의 지역화폐 이용 편의를 높이기 위해 칠곡사랑카드 발급 서비스를 시작한다고 밝혔다.

칠곡사랑카드는 충전한 금액을 칠곡군 내 지역화폐 가맹점에서 사용할 수 있는 카드형 지역화폐다. 충전 잔액을 모두 사용한 이후에는 연결된 계좌의 잔액 범위에서 일반 체크카드처럼 전국 어디서나 사용할 수 있다.

월 개인 구매 한도는 50만 원이며, 지역화폐를 충전할 경우 상시 10% 할인 혜택이 적용된다. 여기에 마트와 편의점, 온라인 쇼핑, 반려동물 관련 업종 등 일부 이용처에서는 최대 10%의 캐시백도 받을 수 있다.

카드 발급은 칠곡군 내 모든 우체국 영업점에서 가능하다. 직접 방문해 신청할 수 있으며, 우체국 예금보험 홈페이지나 우체국 스마트뱅킹을 통한 비대면 발급도 지원한다.

칠곡우체국은 카드 출시를 기념한 고객 이벤트도 마련했다. 9월 21일부터 10월 31일까지 칠곡군 내 9개 우체국에서 칠곡사랑카드를 새로 발급받는 고객 가운데 선착순 100명에게 롤휴지를 사은품으로 증정한다.

이번 서비스 도입으로 칠곡군 주민들은 기존 금융서비스를 이용하듯 가까운 우체국에서 지역화폐를 발급받을 수 있어 접근성이 한층 높아질 전망이다. 지역화폐 사용 확대를 통해 지역 내 소비를 촉진하고 소상공인과 지역 상권에도 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

김동윤 칠곡우체국 국장은 “칠곡사랑카드 발급을 통해 주민들이 보다 편리하게 지역화폐를 이용할 수 있기를 기대한다”며 “앞으로도 지역경제 활성화를 위해 지자체와 유기적인 협력체계를 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

Starting the 21st, residents can obtain the "Chilgok Sarang Card"—Chilgok-gun’s card-type local currency—at local post offices.

Chilgok Post Office announced the launch of this issuance service to revitalize the local economy and enhance convenience for residents using the local currency.

The Chilgok Sarang Card is a card-based local currency that allows users to spend loaded funds at affiliated merchants within Chilgok-gun. Once the loaded balance is exhausted, the card functions like a standard debit card, usable nationwide within the limits of the linked bank account balance.

The monthly individual purchase limit is 500,000 won, and a 10% discount applies whenever the card is topped up. Additionally, users can receive up to 10% cashback at select locations, including supermarkets, convenience stores, online shopping sites, and pet-related businesses.

Cards can be issued at any post office branch within Chilgok-gun. Applications can be made in person, or via non-face-to-face methods such as the Post Office Savings & Insurance website or the Post Office Smart Banking app.

Chilgok Post Office has also organized a promotional event to mark the card's launch. From September 21 to October 31, the first 100 customers to obtain a new Chilgok Sarang Card at any of the nine post offices in Chilgok-gun will receive a complimentary pack of toilet paper.

This new service is expected to significantly improve accessibility, allowing Chilgok-gun residents to obtain the local currency at nearby post offices just as they would access standard financial services. The initiative is anticipated to boost local consumption and support small business owners and the local commercial sector by encouraging wider use of the local currency.

Kim Dong-yun, Director of the Chilgok Post Office, said, "We hope that the issuance of the Chilgok Sarang Card will allow residents to use the local currency more conveniently," adding, "We will continue to maintain a close cooperative relationship with the local government to revitalize the local economy."
