대구동부경찰서는 지난 10일 방촌동 자율방범대의 수상 소식을 전하며, 인증패와 감사장을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

방촌동 자율방범대는 이병탁 대장을 중심으로 범죄취약지역에 대한 꾸준한 순찰과 발생할 수 있는 위험 요소를 현장에서 직접 점검하는 등 현장 맞춤형 예방활동을 펼치고 있다.

특히, 경찰과의 긴밀한 협업을 통해 민·경·군이 함께하는 ‘커뮤니티 폴리싱’ 체계를 구축해 지역사회와 연계한 범죄예방 활동을 강화해 왔다.

방촌동 자율방범대는 지역 청년 조직인 방촌청년회도 함께 운영하며 청년층이 지역 안전에 자연스럽게 참여할 수 있도록 이끌었다. 이를 통해 자체적으로 다양한 범죄예방 시책을 마련해 지역의 안전망을 한층 강화하는 역할을 해냈다.

이날 수여식에서 대구동부경찰서장은 “바쁜 일상에도 묵묵히 지역사회를 위해 헌신해온 자율방범대원 여러분께 깊이 감사드린다”며 “앞으로도 긴밀한 협력으로 주민이 안심할 수 있는 대구 동구를 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 동부경찰서는 앞으로도 자율방범대와 협력을 강화하고, 지역 특성에 맞는 범죄예방 활동을 지속해 주민이 체감할 수 있는 안전한 지역사회를 만드는 데 힘쓸 계획이다.
