특히 대구시가 차량 시스템 변경 과정에서 모노레일에서 철제차륜 AGT 방식으로 전환을 결정할 당시, 다양한 반대 의견이 충분히 반영되지 않았다는 시민사회의 우려가 여전히 남아 있다고 설명했다.
대구경실련은 “이번 공론화 과정이 단순히 차량 운행 방식에 대한 결론을 도출하는 것에 그치지 않고, 대구시 행정에 대한 시민의 불신을 풀고 시민참여를 확대하는 계기가 되어야 한다”고 강조했다.
아울러 위원회 구성과 운영 과정의 공정성에 대한 의문도 제기했다. 대구경실련은 “추경호 대구시장이 모노레일 도입을 공약했던 점, 그리고 일부 위원회 구성원이 과거 특정 입장을 드러냈던 점 등을 볼 때 공정한 논의가 이뤄질 수 있을지 시민들은 걱정하고 있다”고 밝혔다.
