【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=우리나라 교육정보화의 기반 역할을 해온 에듀넷이 개통 30주년을 맞았다. 한국교육학술정보원은 이를 기념해 지난 15일 디지털교육 포럼을 열고 에듀넷의 발전 과정과 향후 교육정보서비스의 방향을 논의했다.

한국교육학술정보원(원장 정제영)은 이날 ‘또 하나의 학교 에듀넷 30년, 함께 그리는 미래 교육’을 주제로 제196회 디지털교육 포럼을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

에듀넷은 1996년 9월 서비스를 시작한 이후 교수·학습자료 공유와 디지털 콘텐츠 활용을 지원하며 교육 현장의 정보화를 뒷받침해 왔다. 교육정책과 교육과정 등 각종 정보를 제공하는 플랫폼으로 기능을 확대했으며, 현재는 클라우드와 인공지능(AI) 기술을 활용해 이용자 맞춤형 교육정보를 제공하는 서비스로 발전했다.

이번 포럼에서는 에듀넷의 지난 30년을 되돌아보고 디지털·AI 기반 교육환경에서 공공 교육정보서비스가 나아갈 방향을 살펴보는 발표가 이어졌다.

김재은 한국교육학술정보원 부장은 ‘에듀넷 30년의 성과와 가치’를 통해 서비스의 주요 발전 과정과 의미를 소개했다. 현장 교사들도 에듀넷을 활용한 교육 사례를 공유했다. 한동규 충남고대중 교사는 ‘에듀넷으로 성장한 나의 교실’, 강인성 경북학천초 교사는 ‘에듀넷과 함께 하는 오늘의 수업’을 주제로 학교 현장에서의 활용 경험을 발표했다.

김상우 한국교육학술정보원 부장은 ‘인공지능(AI)·디지털교육 시대 공공 교육정보서비스 방향과 에듀넷의 미래’를 주제로 발표하며 향후 교육환경 변화에 대응하기 위한 에듀넷의 발전 방향을 제시했다.

이날 행사에서는 에듀넷 발전에 기여한 현장 교원과 유관기관 관계자에 대한 표창도 진행됐다. 최교진 교육부장관을 비롯한 국내외 주요 인사들의 30주년 축하 메시지도 함께 소개됐다.

정제영 한국교육학술정보원장은 “에듀넷은 지난 30년 동안 교사와 학생 곁에서 교육정보화의 변화와 함께해 온 서비스”라며 “앞으로도 교육 현장에서 활용도가 높은 정보와 서비스를 제공해 학생의 성장을 지원하고 교사의 교육활동을 뒷받침할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

Edunet Marks 30th Anniversary; Digital Education Forum Explores Future Directions for Educational Information Services

Edunet, which has served as the foundation for the informatization of education in Korea, has celebrated its 30th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS) held a digital education forum on the 15th to discuss Edunet’s development history and the future direction of educational information services.

KERIS (President Jeong Je-young) announced that it hosted the 196th Digital Education Forum under the theme, "Edunet’s 30 Years: Another School, Shaping the Future of Education Together."

Since launching in September 1996, Edunet has supported the informatization of the educational landscape by facilitating the sharing of teaching and learning materials and the use of digital content. It has expanded its role from a simple resource repository to a platform providing diverse information—such as education policies and curricula—and has now evolved into a service that offers personalized educational information using cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

The forum featured presentations that looked back on Edunet’s past 30 years and examined the future direction of public educational information services within a digital and AI-driven educational environment.

Kim Jae-eun, a department head at KERIS, presented on "The Achievements and Value of Edunet’s 30 Years," outlining the service's key milestones and significance. Teachers from the field also shared examples of how they utilize Edunet. Han Dong-gyu (Chungnam Godaejung School) spoke on "My Classroom Grown Through Edunet," while Kang In-seong (Gyeongbuk Hakcheon Elementary School) presented on "Today’s Class with Edunet," sharing their practical experiences in schools.

Kim Sang-woo, another department head at KERIS, presented on "The Direction of Public Educational Information Services and the Future of Edunet in the Era of AI and Digital Education," proposing a development strategy for Edunet to respond to future changes in the educational environment. During the event, commendations were awarded to educators and officials from related organizations who have contributed to the development of EduNet. Congratulatory messages marking the 30th anniversary from key domestic and international figures, including Minister of Education Choi Kyo-jin, were also shared.

Jeong Je-young, President of the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS), stated, “For the past 30 years, EduNet has been a service that has stood alongside teachers and students, evolving alongside the digital transformation of education.” He added, “We will continue to strive to support student growth and assist teachers in their educational activities by providing highly practical information and services for the classroom.”
