경북의 아이돌봄서비스가 전국에서 유일하게 소득수준에 따라 본인부담금을 줄여주는 지원으로 긍정적인 평가를 받으며 관심이 모아지고 있다.

경북은 맞벌이 부모 등의 자녀 양육 부담 완화를 위해 아이돌봄서비스 이용 시 중위소득 150% 가정까지는 자부담금 50%, 저소득층은 자부담금 100%를 자체 재원을 통해 지원하고 있다.

그 결과 2021년 8월 말 기준으로 한 경북의 아이돌봄 서비스 이용자수는 6천 889명에 달하며 부모들의 양육부담 감소와 아동의 복지증진에 기여하고 있는 것으로 알려진다.

아이돌봄 지원사업이란 부모의 맞벌이 등으로 양육공백이 발생한 가정의 만 12세 이하 아동을 대상으로 아이돌보미가 찾아가 1대1 돌봄 서비스를 제공하는 것으로 부모의 양육부담을 경감하고 시설보육의 사각지대를 보완하고자 도입된 정부의 정책사업이다.

해당사업을 통해 만 3개월~만 12세 이하 아동은 보육, 놀이활동, 준비된 식사 및 간식 챙겨주기, 보육시설 및 학교 등‧하원, 안전 및 신변 처리 등을 제공하는 시간제돌봄서비스와 시간제돌봄서비스에 아동과 관련한 가사활동이 추가된 종합형돌봄서비스를 제공받을 수 있다.

또한 만 3개월~만 36개월 이하의 영아의 경우 이유식 먹이기, 젖병소독, 기저귀 갈기, 목욕 등 영아돌봄과 관련된 영아종일제돌봄서비스가 제공된다.

이 가운데 경북지역 23개 아이돌봄 사업 수행기관의 광역거점기관으로 선정된 대경대 산학협력단은 해당 사업과 관련된 업무지원 및 홍보, 실적관리 등의 역할과 함께 아이돌봄 서비스 모니터링단을 운영하여 해당 사업의 만족도 조사를 실시하고 있다.
