대구시, 2020년 자랑스러운 시민상 수상자 선정

【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구시는 지난 16일 ‘제44회 자랑스러운 시민상’ 공적심사위원회를 개최하고, 대상 1명, 본상 3명, 특별상 2명 등 수상자 6명을 선정했다고 17일 밝혔다.

올해 대상으로 선정된 임상규(71,남) ㈜경인제약 대표이사는 모범약국과 제약기업 경영을 통해 시민보건 향상에 기여해왔다. 또 약사회 주요 임원직, 첨단의료복합단지 대구 유치 위원, 대구빙상경기 연맹 회장 등을 두루 역임하며 지역사회 발전에 앞장섰다는 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

 

부문별 본상 수상자로는 지역사회개발 부문 최상식(66,남) 직장공장 새마을운동 대구광역시협의회 회장, 사회봉사 부문 강민정(63,여) 대한적십자사 봉사회 전국협의회 회장, 선행·효행 부문 이정숙(57,여) 대한적십자사 대구중구지부협의회 회장이 각각 선정됐다.

 

최상식 회장은 20여 년간 새마을운동 활동에 헌신하며, 지역사회를 위한 활동뿐만 아니라 월드비전후원회 사업을 통한 아프리카, 몽골, 인도 등 저개발국에 대한 후원활동 등 다양한 국제교류 참여로 새마을운동의 우수성을 세계에 알리고 대구의 국제위상을 높이기 위해 많은 노력을 기울여 왔다.

 

강민정 회장은 생활이 어렵고 소외된 다문화가정을 위한 한국문화 체험교실 실시, 재외동포들에게 한복 보내기, 희망풍차 결연활동 등 적십자 봉사원으로서 봉사회 발전과 무료급식 활동 등 지역의 취약계층을 위한 다양한 자원봉사활동을 전개해왔다.

 

이정숙 회장은 사각지대에 놓인 위기가정 세대를 발굴하고, 대상자 가정에 구호물품 전달, 무료급식 활동 등 훈훈한 이웃사랑을 실천하고, 매년 경로잔치 후원, 어버이날 카네이션 달아드리기 등 지역의 어려운 어르신에 대한 온정의 손길을 이어오는 등 선행으로 주변의 귀감이 됐다.

 

특별상 수상자는 양균열(62,남) 수성구 지역사회봉사협의체 위원장, 김태수(58세,여) 한우리봉사단 회장이 선정됐다.

 

양균열 위원장은 민·관 협력 사각지대 발굴, 지역사회 소외계층 지원을 위한 희망나눔위원회 및 지역사회보장협의체 활동을 통해 소외된 이웃의 행복을 위해 노력해왔으며, 장학재단 후원, 희망수성 천사계좌 기부 등 여러 후원 활동을 통해 지역사회를 따뜻하게 만들어왔다.

 

김태수 회장은 자택을 지역 어르신들 사랑방(쉼터)로 무상제공하고 노인복지관 급식 후원 등 지역 어르신에 대한 나눔을 실천해왔으며, 각종 사회단체 활동을 통해 다양한 자원봉사활동에 적극 참여해왔다.

 

제44회 자랑스러운 시민상 수상자에 대한 시상은 내년 2월 대구시민의 날 행사에 거행될 예정이다.

 

대구시 자랑스러운 시민상은 1977년부터 지난해까지 43회에 걸쳐 모두 144명이 수상했다. 대구시에서는 수상자에 대해 대구시 각종 행사에 내빈으로 초대하는 등 예우하고 있으며 수상 공적은 대구시 기록물로 영구 보존된다.

 

권영진 대구시장은 “대구시에서 가장 전통과 권위가 있는 영예로운 상인 자랑스러운 시민상을 수상하신 분들께 진심으로 축하드린다”면서, “코로나19로 힘든 시기지만 수상자 분들을 통해 많은 시민들이 희망과 용기를 얻는 계기가 될 것이다. 앞으로도 지역사회 발전을 위해 더욱 노력해주시길 바란다”고 말했다.
