【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구 수성구는 18일 김대권 대구 수성구청장이 자치분권 2.0시대 개막을 응원하는 ‘자치분권 기대해 챌린지’에 동참했다고 밝혔다.

이번 챌린지는 지방자치법 전부개정안이 2020년 12월 9일 국회를 통과하면서 주민 중심 자치분권 실현에 대한 소망을 공유하기 위해 대통령 소속 자치분권위원회에서 처음 시작했다. 32년 만에 전면 개정된 지방자치법은 주민주권, 주민참여 확대, 중앙-지방간의 협력 강화 등을 담고 있다.

수성구는 2013년 지역최초로 자치분권 촉진·지원 조례를 제정하고, 자치역량 강화를 위해 자치분권협의회를 구성한바 있다.

김대권 수성구청장은 “주민과 자치단체 중심으로 정책을 정하고 실현해 진정한 자치분권이 정착할 수 있도록 더욱 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 지난 15일에는 대구 수성구의회 조용성 의장이 김경호 성주군의회 의장의 지명을 받아새로운 도약을 소망하는 문구가 적힌 피켓을 들고 챌린지에 참여했다.

조용성 의장은 “지방자치의 주체는 주민이며, 앞으로 펼쳐질 자치분권 2.0 시대에 맞추어 자치분권의 진정한 실현을 위해 수성구민과 함께 고민하고 실천해 나가도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
