포항시, ‘1조원 규모 경북 산단대개조(포항권) 정부 공모’ 참여

이날 협약식에는 경북도와 포항·경주·영천시를 비롯해 포스텍·동국대 경주캠퍼스·대구대 등 대학 및 포스코, 포항∙경주∙영천 상공회의소, 산업단지공단 경북지역본부, 포항철강산업단지관리공단, 경주외동공단연합회 등 14개 기업·기관 단체가 참여했다.

 

또한, 사전 업무협약에 동의한 폴리텍 포항캠퍼스, 포항금속소재산업진흥원, 포항테크노파크, 영진산업(경주), 진양특수강(영천), 경북하이브리드부품연구원, 경북자동차임베디드연구원 등 7개 혁신기관도 참여했다.

 

이번 협약식에는 이철우 경북도지사, 이강덕 포항시장·주낙영 경주시장·최기문 영천시장을 비롯해 각 기관·단체 대표와 정해종 포항시의회 의장, 김희수 경북도의회 부의장, 장경식∙한창화∙박용선∙이칠구∙이동업∙이재도∙김상헌 도의원, 안병국 포항시의회 의회운영위원장 등이 참석했다.

 

이강덕 포항시장은 “협약을 체결한 기관단체들의 역량과 지역의 우수한 연구개발 인프라를 기반으로 제조 혁신과 일자리 창출을 위한 산단대개조 정부공모에 선정될 수 있도록 행정력을 집중해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

 

산단대개조 사업은 지난 2019년 11월 발표된 ‘정부 산업단지 대개조 계획’에 따라 추진되며, 국내 제조업 중추인 노후화된 산업단지를 ‘지역산업 혁신거점’으로 집중 지원하는 지역 일자리 창출 프로젝트이다.

 

경북 산단대개조(포항권) 사업은 총 사업비 1조 원을 들여 ‘철강산업 재도약과 친환경 자동차 첨단소재·부품 산업 육성을 위한 글로벌 선도 탄소중립 스마트 산단’ 구축을 목표로 포항국가산단을 ‘거점산단’으로 포항철강산단·경주 외동산단·영천첨단산단을 ‘연계산단’으로 추진된다.

 

또한 △탄소중립 산업 생태계 구축을 통한 탄소 중립 ECO-전환 △친환경 산단제로 에너지화 및 노후산단 인프라를 혁신하기 위한 지속 가능한 산업 환경 조성 △업종․산단간 협력과 융합 성장을 위한 디지털 융합 생태계 구축 등 3대 중점과제를 중심으로 2025년에는 탄소배출 10% 저감, 에너지 사용량 5% 절감, 스마트공장 200개 보급, 양질의 일자리 2000개 창출을 목표로 하고 있다.

 

정부 일자리위원회가 주관하고 산업통상자원부, 국토교통부 등 관계부처 합동으로 진행하는 ‘2021년 산단대개조 지역후보지 선정’ 공모에 경상북도・포항시・경주시・영천시는 예비접수(1월 29일)에 신청서를 제출했고, 이날 협약을 통해 오는 3월 5일 본 접수를 위해 본격적인 준비에 나선다.

 

한편, 2021년도 산단대개조 지역후보지는 3월 24일 경쟁력강화위원회(위원장 국무총리)에서 선정될 계획이다.사업내용은 정부부처심사 및 국회 심의를 거쳐 오는 12월에 최종 확정하게 된다.

 

정부는 2020년 산단대개조 지역후보지 5개소 선정에 이어 2022년까지 지역후보지를 매년 5개소 선정할 예정이다.
