대구보건대학교(총장 남성희) 보현박물관이 최근 경상남도 제2종 박물관에 등록됐다.

25일 대구보건대에 따르면 보현박물관은 박물관 및 미술관 진흥법 규정에 따른 등록 요건을 갖추고 현장실사와 심의위원회의 심의를 거쳐 제2종 박물관에 등록됐다.

경남 밀양시 단장면에 위치한 보현박물관은 2016년 6월에 개관했다. 전시관은 541㎡(164평) 크기로지하 1층, 지상 2층이며 조각공원과 잔디광장, 분수대 등으로 조성됐다.

석은조 관장(유아교육과 교수)은“지역사회와 박물관 특색을 담아내는 전시연계 체험 프로그램, 문화예술 교육프로그램 등을 운영해 지역민들에게 다양한 문화향유의 기회를 제공할 것”이라며“지역민과 관람객에게 열린문화공간, 복합문화공간으로서 지역 최고의 문화예술기관으로서의 입지를 굳힐 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.

한편, 지난해 11월부터 근현대사박물관 협력망지원사업의 일환으로 전시 중인‘보건과 건강을 향해 함께 떠나는 여행...ing’은 1950~1970년대 근대 교과서 속 보건을 중심으로 100여점의 전시작품을 통해 그 당시의 전염병, 위생상태, 방역활동 등 보건위생과 대처법 보여준다. 전시는 코로나 19로 보건과 개인위생의 관심이 높아지면서 관람객이 꾸준히 증가해 전시기간을 3월말에서 올 연말까지 연장 운영할 예정이다.
