포항시 하수도과는 여름철 집중 강우로 인해 반복적으로 침수 피해를 겪고 있는 송도동 일대의 침수 예방을 위해 ‘송도 사거리 일원 하수도 정비공사’를 추진한다고 16일 밝혔다.

송도사거리 상습침수 지역은 집중 호우 시 포항모자원 일대 하수도 통수단면 부족 및 동빈내항 수위상승에 따른 배수불량으로 빗물이 저지대로 유입돼 매년 침수피해를 겪어왔다.

이에 시는 상습적인 침수로 인한 재산 피해와 주민들의 불편을 해소를 위해 10억 원의 예산을 투입해 간이수중펌프(50Hp X 2대) 및 관로(D500~800) L=642m를 설치한다.

이 사업은 이달부터 공사를 시행해 우수기 전 오는 6월 말 공사를 마무리한다는 계획이다.

오은용 하수도과장은 “공사에 따른 통행 불편을 최소화해 조기에 공사를 마무리함으로써 태풍 및 집중 호우로부터 시민의 재산과 생명을 보호하는 데 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
