경북테크노파크(하인성 원장, 이하 경북TP)는 제13회 기후변화주간(4월22일~28일) 및 지구의 날(4월 22일)을 맞아 22일 저녁 8시부터 10분 동안 경북테크노파크 본원(경북 경산) 및 센터의 소등행사를 실시하기로 했다.
경북TP에 따르면 ‘지구의 날’이란 1969년 미국 캘리포니아주에서 발생한 해상기름 유출사고를 계기로 지구의 환경을 보호하자는 취지로 1970년 4월22일 시작된 민간주도의 세계 기념일이다.
매년 지구의 날을 전후한 일주일을 기후변화주간으로 정해 온실가스 감축 및 저탄소 생활 실천의 필요성을 알리기 위한 여러 행사를 갖고 있다.
환경부는 ‘기후변화 이슈화’ 및 ‘탄소중립 생활 실천’을 위해 기후변화 주간을 지정하여 대국민 홍보캠페인을 추진하고 있으며 경북테크노파크를 위시한 경상북도 산하 출자·출연기관들도 동참한다. 일반주택, 아파트 단지, 상가는 자율적으로 참여할 수 있다.
하인성 원장은 “일회용 컵 대신 개인컵(텀블러) 이용하기, 가전제품 플러그 뽑기, 장바구니 이용하기 등 생활 속에서의 작은 실천이 모여 온실가스 감축으로 지구환경 개선에 많은 도움이 될 수 있다”며 “기관 차원에서 개인 컵과 텀블러를 사용하는 친환경 조직문화가 정착할 수 있도록 노력할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
경북테크노파크 하인성 원장은 플라스틱 용품 사용 줄이기를 독려하는 ‘고고챌린지’ 캠페인에 앞서 동참하는 등 친환경 조직문화 정착을 위한 행보를 지속하고 있다.
