포항해양경찰서(서장 김형민)는 24일 호미곶 인근 해상에서 연안사고대응력 향상을 위하여 어선 좌초 상황을 가정한 민･관･군합동수난대비기본훈련을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

수난대비기본훈련은 수상구조법 제5조의2(수난대비기본훈련의 실시 등)에 따라 수상에서 자연적·인위적 원인으로 발생하는 조난사고로부터 사람의 생명과 신체 및 재산을 보호하기위하여 수난구호협력기관 및 수난구호민간단체 등과 공동으로 매년 분기별 실시하는 법정훈련을 말한다

이날 훈련은 포항해양경찰서, 포항남부소방서, 포항항만방어대대 등 6개 기관·단체가 참여했으며, 함·선 및 항공기와 구조차량 등이 투입되었다.

이번 훈련은 해양사고 위험이 높아지는 농무기(3~7월) 기간에 대비하였으며, 선박 갯바위 좌초 사고를 가정하여▶ 드론 등 첨단 장비를 이용한 위험요소 파악▶ 항공구조 및 로프 인명구조▶ 파공부위 봉쇄 및 해양오염 대응 순으로 진행하였다.

선박이 연안에 좌초되었을 경우 접근이 쉽지 않고 주변에 많은 위험요소가 산재하고 있어 구조활동에 많은 어려움이 발생하고 있으며,이를 극복하기 위한 여러 방안들을 접목함으로써 대응 역량을 강화할 수 있는 기회가 되었다.

포항해양경찰서 관계자는 “실전과 같은 훈련을 반복하여 구조 대응태세 역량을지속적으로 향상시키겠다”며 각종 해양 재난 상황에 대비하여지속적인 노력으로 국민의 소중한 생명을 지키기 위하여 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
