【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포스코는 고품격 복합문화공간 Park1538이 최근 독일 ‘2022 iF 디자인 어워드(International Forum Design Award 2022)’의 △건축(도시조경), △커뮤니케이션(안내표식), △실내건축(설치작품) 등 3개 부문에서 수상했다고 19일 밝혔다.

iF 디자인 어워드는 1954년 독일에서 시작된 국제 디자인 공모전으로 미국 ‘IDEA 디자인 어워드’,  독일 ‘Red Dot 디자인 어워드’와 함께 세계 3대 디자인 공모전으로 불린다.

 

Park1538은 다양한 수종의 조화로운 식재와 창의적인 휴게공간을 조성한 점을 인정 받아 「건축(도시조경)」부문에서 수상했고, 내·외부 사인물을 시인성 높게 디자인하고 포스코의 스테인리스로 제작한 점이 심사단의 좋은 평가를 받아 「커뮤니케이션(안내표식)」부문에서도 수상했다.

 

또한「실내건축(설치작품)」부문에서는 관람객의 움직임에 따라 반응하는 키네틱 작품인 ‘철의 감성’이 수상했다. 이 작품은 해와 달, 12달을 상징하는 오브제와 92개의 자연계의 원소를 형상화하고 자연과 인간 그리고 철의 교감을 담아낸 것이 특징이다.

 

이에 앞서 Park1538 대표 콘텐츠인 '철의 문명'은 지난 2월 ‘아시아 디자인 프라이즈(Asia Design Prize)’에서 대상을 수상했다. 아시아 디자인 프라이즈는 세계적인 산업디자이너 카림 라시드(Karim Rashid)가 심사위원장을 맡는 등 공신력 있는 디자인상이다.

 

'철의 문명'은 철의 탄생과 인류의 무한한 가능성을 360도 인터랙티브 영상관과 서라운드 미디어 쇼로 표현한 점을 높이 평가 받아 최고 수상의 영예를 안았으며, 지난 1월 국내 최대 디지털 산업계 어워드인 앤어워드(Awards for New Digital Award)에서도 최고상인 그랑프리를 수상하는 등 꾸준히 호평을 받고 있다.

 

이 외에도 Park1538은 대한민국 조경대상 국토부장관상, 세계철강협회 스틸리어워드 커뮤니케이션 프로그램상, 굿디자인어워드 특허청장상 등 국내외 대형 어워드의 디자인 및 콘텐츠 분야에서 수상해 독창성과 우수성을 인정 받고 있다.

 

Park1538은 열린 공간을 의미하는 ‘Park’와, 철의 녹는 온도이자 임직원들의 땀과 뜨거운 열정을 상징하는 ‘1538℃’의 합성어다. 철의 무한한 재활용성과 인간의 창의성을 의미하는 무한루프를 컨셉으로 디자인 되었으며, 작년 4월 개관 후 1년여만에 3만 3천여명의 누적 방문자를 기록하는 등 포항 지역의 명소로 자리매김하고 있다.
