【브레이크뉴스 경주】박영재 기자=경주시는 4년간 유효한 유니세프 한국위원회의 유니세프 아동친화도시 인증을 획득했다고 11일 밝혔다.

유니세프 아동친화도시는 18세 미만 모든 아동이 살기 좋은 도시로 유엔아동권리협약의 아동권리를 이행하기 위해 노력하는 도시를 지칭한다.

유니세프 한국위원회는 아동친화도시 10가지 구성요소 이행 기준을 통과한 도시를 아동친화도시로 인증하고 있다.

앞서 경주시는 2019년 5월 아동친화도시 조성계획수립을 시작으로 유니세프가 제시하는 아동친화도시 10가지 구성요소 이행을 위해 노력을 기울여왔다.

이를 위해 경주시는 아동권리전담부서 신설, 아동친화적인법체계정비, 아동참여체계운영, 아동권리교육 및 홍보 등에 행정력을 집중했다.

2019년 12월 경주교육지원청, 경주경찰서, 시의회등과 아동친화도시 업무협약을 맺는가 하면, 2020년 6월에는 아동권리기관인 세이브더칠드런, 굿네이버스, 초록우산어린이재단과 아동권리증진 및 교육을 위한 업무협약을 체결하며 지역사회 및 관련기관과 함께 아동친화도시 인증을 위해 노력해 왔다.

특히 경주시는 도내최초로 외국인 아동에 대한 보육료를 지원하고 영유아ADHD검사비지원사업, 다함께 돌봄센터 확충, 주민참여형 어린이놀이터조성, 찾아가는 아동권리교육 ,아동권리옴부즈퍼슨 운영 등 다양한 아동친화사업을 추진하고 있다.
