【브레이크뉴스 경주】이성현 기자=경상북도문화관광공사(사장 김성조, 이하 공사)는 지난 27일 을지훈련(을지프리덤쉴드) 참가 미군 30여 명을 대상으로 경북관광의 매력을 알리는 경주투어를 진행했다.

29일 공사에 따르면 이번 투어는 경주의 유네스코 세계문화유산인 불국사와 석굴암을 둘러보며 한국의 전통문화를 이해하는 자리를 가졌으며, 또한 최근 젊은이들에게 핫플레이스로 떠올라 큰 인기를 끌고 있는 황리단길도 방문했다.

 

한편, 공사는 새로운 경북 관광 수요를 발굴하기 위해 주한미군 등 밀리터리 마켓(MM)의 문을 꾸준히 두드려왔으며, 그 성과로 지난 5월 주한물자지원사령부(MSC-K)와 한미 우호교류 및 경북관광 활성화를 위한 상호협력 업무협약을 체결한 바 있다.

 

이후 양 기관은 지속적인 협력을 통해 지난 6월 경주 교촌마을에서 플로깅(plogging) 및 전통혼례 체험 활동을 진행한 바 있고, 이달 11일과 12일(1박2일 간)에는 부대 소속 장교단의 전문성 개발 세미나와 전적지 투어를 경주와 영덕 일원에서 진행하기도 했다.

 

김성조 사장은“이번 행사로 한미 양국의 문화관광 거리감이 더욱 좁혀지며 관광을 통한 한미동맹 강화에 크게 기여했다”며 “앞으로도 밀리터리 마켓(MM) 타겟 마케팅을 지속 추진하여, 경북관광 활성화에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
