【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=계명대학교 동산병원(병원장 박남희) 신경외과 고용산 교수팀이 대만 의사 연수단과의 최신 양방향 내시경 수술 교육을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 교육은 지난해 6월, 대만 정형외과 의사 연수단 방문에 이은 두 번째로 지난 15일부터 16일까지 양일간 진행되었다.

대만 가오슝 재향군인병원 신경외과의 Yu-Lun Wu, Yang Kai-Chao, Chen Nan-Fu 박사와 대만 중국의과대학병원 신경외과의 Yu-Hsiang Lin 박사 4명으로 구성된 대만 의사 연수단은 계명대 동산병원에 방문해 고용산 교수팀의 최신 미세침습수술을 직접 참관하고 관련 술기에 관해 활발히 토론했다. 

연수단의 요청으로 이뤄진 이번 교육에서는 ‘양방향 내시경 수술을 이용한 추체간 유합술’, ‘척추 감압술’, ‘디스크 절제술’에 대한 설명이 진행됐다.

양방향 내시경 수술은 기존 척추 수술보다 더 적은 침습으로 디스크나 척추관 협착증 같은 퇴행성 척추 질환을 치료하는 방법으로 두 개의 작은 절개를 통해 한쪽은 내시경 카메라를 삽입하고, 다른 한쪽은 수술 도구를 삽입하는 데 사용된다.

큰 절개가 필요 없기에, 회복 시간이 빠르고 합병증 위험이 적다는 장점이 있다. 또한, 내시경 카메라를 사용해 수술 중 척추와 주변 조직에 대한 세밀한 확인이 가능하며 이를 통해, 수술의 정확성을 높이고 환자의 통증을 줄일 수 있다. 고용산 교수팀은 이와 같은 최신 미세침습수술을 적극적으로 시행하며 환자의 안전과 빠른 회복을 위해 노력하고 있다.

한편, 고용산 교수팀은 2022년 2월 대구지역 최초로, 통증이 시작되는 척수 신경부위에 미세한 전류가 흐르는 장치를 이식해 뇌로 이동하는 통증 신호를 줄이는 ‘척수신경자극기 삽입술’을 선보이며, 만성 통증 환자들의 통증 조절에도 많은 도움을 주고 있다.
