17일 경북도의회에 따르면 이번 방문은 지방의회 인사권 독립 이후 의원의 의정활동을 지원하기 위해 신설된 정책지원관들이 경상북도 출자ㆍ출연기관 등 주요 사업현장을 찾아 관계자들의 운영상의 고충과 애로사항을 청취해 현장에서 의정활동의 답을 찾고자 올해 처음 도입된‘열린의회 찾아가는 입법지원활동’제도의 일환으로 진행됐다.

이번 경북행복재단 현장방문은 올해 1월 1일부터 경북행복재단과 경북청소년육성재단이 통합해 경북행복재단으로 공식 출범함에 따라 이뤄졌다.

이날 경북 도내 보건복지청소년 분야의 싱크탱크 역할은 물론이며, 고령화와 저출산 등 급변하는 보건복지청소년 서비스의 환경변화에 발빠르게 대처하기 위한 도의회와 행복재단의 협력방안에 대한 논의의 장이 됐다.

특히 구미 지역구 출신인 김일수 도의원(국민의힘)이 참석해 “행복재단이 청소년육성재단을 품은 만큼 앞으로 경북 복지 컨트롤타워로써 역할을 다해주길 바라며, 그 역할을 다 할 수 있도록 청소년 관련 연구원 배치 등 의회차원의 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.

이어 새마을운동 테마공원 현장방문에서는 새마을운동 테마공원 운영의 어려움에 대한 공감대 형성과 함께 테마공원이 구미시민을 비롯한 경북도민이 모두 함께 이용하는 시설로 거듭나기 위한 방안을 논의했다.

김종수 의회사무처장은“현장중심의 보다 전문화된 의정활동으로 경상북도의회가 지역 현안 문제와 도 산하기관 운용 개선에 기여할 것으로 기대한다”며“앞으로도 외부의 다양한 경력과 전문성을 갖춘 정책지원관제도의 효율적인 운용을 통한 실효성 있는 의정활동을 하도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
