왜 우리 같은 소시민들이 이토록 나라 걱정을 해야 하는 것입니까? 우리가 할 일은, 열심히 일해서 정직하게 세금 납부하고 국가의 돌봄을 받아야 하는 것이거늘, 왜 우리가 일도 하고 세금도 내고 심지어 나라 걱정까지 도맡아 해야 하는 것입니까?

단도직입적으로 묻습니다. 과연 이름이 널리 알려진 정치인들은 우리 같은 무명의 시민 만큼 제대로 된 나라 걱정을 하고 있습니까?

누구나, 정직한 마음으로 통계를 보면 알 수 있듯이, 무도하고 무능한 검찰정권이 들어선 지난 2년 간 나라의 모든 기틀이 휘청이고 있습니다. 민주주의는 크게 후퇴했고 경제는 비탈길로 추락하는 중이며 정의는 땅바닥으로 곤두박질했고 사회 전체가 각자도생의 험악한 길을 걷고 있습니다.

이런 판국에 나라를 바로 세우기 위해 소정의 책무를 수행해야 할 민주당이 현재 노정하는 꼬라지를 보면 기가 차서 말도 안 나옵니다.

제 아무리 본인들 국회의원 금배지가 소중하다 해도, 그러나 총선을 불과 40여일 앞둔 절체절명의 상황에서 단일대오를 형성하여  강력한 투쟁을 해도 모자란 판국에 연일 내부 잡음과 갈등이 여과없이 언론에 크게 보도되어 지지자들의 마음을 힘들게 하고 있고, 나아가 민주주의의 회복을 바라는 국민의 염원에 재를 뿌리고 있습니다.

물론 혹자는 말하길, 민주당 내부 상황은 별 문제가 없다, 현재의 갈등 국면처럼 보이는 상황은 용산의 눈치를 보는 친윤 언론의 편파적인 기사 작성 때문이라고, 변명할 수도 있겠으나, 심지어 이 중차대한 시국에 그런 빌미를 제공하는 것 자체가 현재 민주당의 무능을 그대로 드러내는 것에 불과합니다.

특히 이번 총선을 앞두고 민주당 현역 의원 일부가 부리는 몽니는 참으로 가관입니다. 이들에게는 한마디로 윤석열 정권 심판은 안중에도 없고, 자신이 금배지를 한 번 더 달면 그것으로 충분한 듯합니다.

정말 그렇습니까? 우리 같은 시민은, 민주주의가 질식하여 숨을 제대로 쉴 수 없는 것 같은데, 우리는 경제가 어려워서 '오늘은 어떻게 살고 내일은 또 어떻게 사나?' 하는 걱정이 태산 같은데, 당신들은 고작 금배지 한 번 더 달고  그래서 우리가 낸 세금으로 억대의 세비를 받아가며 '의원님' 소리를 들으면서, 여기 가도 대접받고 저기 가도 대접받으며 또 4년 동안 세월을 보내면 그걸로 족한 것입니까? 대관절 그리하려고 정치를 하는 것입니까?

4년 전 총선에서 민주당 승리를 위해 불철주야 노력했던 시민의 한 사람으로서, 제가 민주당 현역 의원 모두에게 묻고 싶습니다.

4년 전의 그 '아슬아슬한' 승리가 온전히 당신들이 잘나서, 당신들의 실력 때문에 얻어진 것이라고 믿습니까? 나는 절대 그렇게 생각하지 않습니다. 당신들이 4년 전 얻었던 180석의 전리품은 온전히 시민들의 결기어린 희생과 도움 덕분이었습니다.

5-4년 전, 소위 '조국 사태'로 인해 서초동과 광화문에 수백 만 인파가 몰려서 대치할 때, 이 후 중국발 코로나 사태가 덥쳐서 근래에 겪은 전대미문의 위기 상황 앞에서, 만약 이번 총선에서 패하면 자칫 한국의 민주주의가 도살될 수도 있겠구나, 또다시 이명박-박근혜의 시대가 도래할 수도 있겠구나, 하는 걱정에 잠을 못 이루던 우리 같은 시민들이 열일을 제껴두고 백방으로 노력해서 당신들에게 '저 위대한 180석'을 몰아준 것입니다. 그리고 그 덕에 솔직히 누군지도 잘 모르던 어중이떠중이 같은 정치신인들조차 여의도에 입성할 수 있었던 것입니다.

그러나 당신들은 그 평범한 진실조차 직시하지 않고 마치 자신들이 잘 나서 금배지를 획득한 줄 알았던 것입니다. 그 결과가 지난 4년간 민주당 의원들이 보여준 형편없는 투쟁 성적입니다. 그리고 지금은 '공천'을 갖고 마치 여섯 살 짜리 아이가 길바닥에 누워 떼를 부리듯 몽니를 부리는 모습입니다.

나라의 안위를 심히 염려하는 시민의 한 사람으로서,내 분명히 말합니다. "민주당, 정신 차리십시오!!!"

그따위로 정치하려면, 차라리 우리 같은 시민처럼 땀 흘려 노동해서 정직하게 세금을 내며 나라를 위해 소박하게나마 기여하십시오.

그게 아니라, 정치를 꼭 해야 하는 무언가 이유가 있다면 그 대의를 위해 자신을 불사르는 모습을 보이십시오. 그렇지 않으면 이번 총선에서 태풍 앞의 겨처럼 나자빠지는 모습을 겪게 될 것입니다. heungyong57@hanmail.net

A country where citizens worry about the country... Is it only the citizens who worry about the country?

Why do small citizens like us have to worry so much about our country? Our job is to work hard, pay taxes honestly, and receive care from the government. Why do we have to work, pay taxes, and even worry about our country?

I ask directly. Do well-known politicians really care about the country as much as unknown citizens like us?

As anyone can see with an honest look at the statistics,

The entire foundation of the country has been shaken over the past two years since the incompetent and incompetent prosecution government came into power. Democracy has retreated greatly and the economy is falling down a slope.

Justice has plummeted to the ground, and the entire society is walking the difficult path of survival.

When I look at the current behavior of the Democratic Party, which is supposed to carry out its duties to set the country straight in this situation, I am shocked and speechless.

However, in a desperate situation just 40 days before the general election,

In a situation where forming a single team and fighting powerfully is not enough, internal noise and conflicts are widely reported in the media every day without filtering, which is distressing the hearts of supporters and, furthermore, scattering ashes on the people's wish for the restoration of democracy.

Of course, some people say that there is no problem with the internal situation of the Democratic Party, and that the current situation that appears to be a conflict can be excused by writing biased articles by pro-Yoon media that cares about Yongsan, but even in this critical situation, there is no such excuse. Providing this itself merely exposes the current Democratic Party's incompetence.

In particular, the behavior of some incumbent members of the Democratic Party ahead of this general election is truly appalling. In short, they do not care about the judgment of the Yoon Seok-yeol regime, and it seems that if they wear one more gold badge, that will be enough.

Is that really true? Citizens like us feel like we can't breathe properly because democracy is suffocating, but because of the difficult economy, we wonder 'How will we live today and how will we live tomorrow?' I have a lot of worries, but if you just wear one more gold badge and collect hundreds of millions of won in taxes from the taxes we paid, and spend the next four years being treated well here and there while being called 'congressman', that will be enough. Will you? Is that what you are doing in politics?

As one of the citizens who worked tirelessly for the Democratic Party's victory in the general election four years ago, I would like to ask all current Democratic Party members.

Do you believe that the 'close' victory from four years ago was achieved entirely because of your talent? I absolutely don't think so. The 180 seats of loot you gained four years ago was entirely thanks to the tireless sacrifice and help of citizens.

5-4 years ago, when millions of people flocked to Seocho-dong and Gwanghwamun to confront each other due to the so-called 'Cho Kuk Incident', then in the face of the unprecedented crisis we have recently experienced due to the coronavirus outbreak from China, if we lose in this general election, Korea's democracy could be slaughtered, and the era of Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye could arrive again.

Citizens like us who couldn't sleep because of worries put aside our hard work and worked hard to win 'that great 180 seats' to you. And thanks to that, even political newcomers who honestly didn't even know who they were were able to enter Yeouido.

But you don't even face the simple truth

They thought they had done well and won a gold badge. The result is the poor performance of Democratic Party members over the past four years. And now, with the nomination, it looks like a six-year-old child lying on the street and throwing a tantrum.

As a citizen who is deeply concerned about the safety of our country, I speak clearly. “Democrats, wake up!!!”

If you want to do politics like that, you should work hard like citizens like us, pay taxes honestly, and make a small contribution to the country.

Rather, if there is a reason why you must engage in politics, show yourself burning yourself for that cause. Otherwise, we will be swept away like chaff in front of a typhoon in this general election. heungyong57@hanmail.net
