포항해경에 따르면 2일 오후 2시 35분쯤 포항시 호미곶항 북서방 0.9km(0.5해리) 해상에서 어선 A호(5톤급, 승선원 4명)에 물이 차고 있다는 신고를 접수했다.

포항해경은 승선원 안전을 위해 구명조끼 착용 및 안전지역 대피 지시와동시에 침수 진행사항을 확인하며 구조세력을 이동시켰다.

A호 선장에게 확인해 보니 기관실에 반 정도 물이 찼고, 자체 배수 작업 중이며 더 이상 침수량이 늘지 않고 있다는 사항을 확인했다.

현장에 도착한 구조세력이 2차사고 예방을 위해 배수펌프를 이용, 배수 작업을 실시하면서 어선 A호를 안전한 곳으로 이동시켰다. 이후 민간어선 B호(9톤급)가 어선A호를 안전하게 대보항으로 예인했다.

선장 C씨(남,40대)는 “호미곶 인근해상에서 수리 차 이동 중암초에 부딪히면서기관실이 침수돼 해경에 구조요청을 했다.“고 말했다

포항해경 관계자는 ”항해 시 주변을 잘 살펴야 하며, 해양사고 발생 시신속하게 해경에 신고해 줄 것”을 당부했다.
