27일 대구시교육청(교육감 강은희)에 따르면 여자 15세이하부 100m 허들 종목에 출전한 월배중 김서현 학생은 13초67의 기록으로 무려 25년 만에 한국신기록(종전기록 14초10)을 경신하며, 대한육상연맹최우수선수로 선정됐다.

또한, 전남 국제사격장에서 열린 공기권총 종목에 출전한 성당중 김민승 학생은235.5점으로 대회신기록을 작성하며 개인과 단체전 2관왕에 올랐다.

여자 12세이하부 양궁 종목에 출전한 황금초 채수현 학생은 첫날 경기에서 35m와 30m 2관왕을 차지한 데 이어 2일차 경기에서도 20m 1위, 25m 4위에 올라개인종합까지 4관왕의 위업을 달성했다.

남자 15세이하부 롤러 종목에 출전한 대구동부중 정영운 학생은 첫날 출전한 E10,000m 금메달에 이어 둘째 날 EP10,000m와 3,000m계주에서 금메달을 차지하며3관왕을 달성했다.

단체 종목에서도 선전이 이어지고 있다. 27일(월) 열린 여자 12세이하부 배구 종목에 출전한 관문초는 광주 치평초를 맞아 1세트를 이겼으나 2세트를 내주고 최종 3세트도 먼저 4점을 내주는 등 어려운 경기 상황이었지만 막판 집중력을 발휘하여 듀스 접전 끝에 승리를 거두고 결승에 진출했다.

남자 15세이하부 축구 종목에 출전한 율원중은 경기 삼성블루윙즈 U15를 맞아객관적인 전력상 열세가 예상됐으나, 후반 막판 극적인 동점골을 넣은 후 승부차기끝에 5:4로 역전승을 거뒀다.

대구선수단은 이러한 활약에 힘입어 5월 26일(일) 현재 금 26개, 은 13개, 동 26개 합계 65개로 순조로운 메달 행진을 이어가고 있다. 아직 대회기간이 2일 남은 만큼 또 다른 선수들의 깜짝 활약도 기대하고 있다.
