5일 한수원은 오는 12일과 13일(현지시간) 양일간 체코공대에서 APR1000 노심시뮬레이터를 전시하고, 체코공대와 함께 원전 운영 전문가 양성을 위한 학부 커리큘럼을 공동 개발에 나선다고 밝혔다.

APR1000은 한수원이 체코에 제안한 노형으로, APR1000 노심시뮬레이터는 원전 운영 전문인력 양성을 위해 한수원이 개발한 고정밀 모의실험 장치다. 체코공대는 한수원과의 협력을 통해 원자력학과 과정에서 시뮬레이터를 적극 활용, 우수한 원전 운영 인력을 배출하겠다는 계획이다.

한수원은 2016년부터 체코 원자력 분야와의 공동연구를 지속적으로 발굴, 수행하면서 기술 교류를 활발히 하고 있다. 특히, 2022년부터 양국 산업통상자원부 지원으로 국제에너지공동연구를 수행하고 있으며, 지난 4월에는 체코 현지에서 원자력분야 산·학·연 주요 인사들을 초청하여 ‘원자력 공동연구 기술 교류 및 R&D 심포지엄’을 성황리에 개최하였다.

신호철 한수원 중앙연구원장은 “한수원은 체코와의 지속적인 기술 교류 및 연구 협력을 통해 글로벌 탄소중립에 기여하고, 양국 원자력산업의 동반성장을 기대한다”라고 밝혔다.

 Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (CEO Hwang Joo-ho, hereinafter referred to as Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power) is entering into a bid for a new nuclear power plant in the Czech Republic and is closely cooperating with the Czech nuclear industry through active technological exchanges.

 On the 5th, KHNP announced that it will exhibit the APR1000 core simulator at the Czech Technical University on the 12th and 13th (local time) and jointly develop an undergraduate curriculum to train nuclear power plant operation experts with the Czech Technical University.

APR1000 is a reactor type proposed by KHNP to the Czech Republic, and the APR1000 core simulator is a high-precision simulation device developed by KHNP to train nuclear power plant operation experts. Through cooperation with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, Czech Technical University plans to actively use simulators in the nuclear energy department course and produce excellent nuclear power plant operation personnel.

 Since 2016, KHNP has been actively exchanging technology by continuously discovering and conducting joint research with the Czech nuclear energy sector. In particular, we have been carrying out international energy joint research with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of both countries since 2022, and in April, we invited key figures from industry, academia, and research in the nuclear field to the Czech Republic to hold a 'Nuclear Joint Research Technology Exchange and R&D Symposium'. It was held successfully.

 KHNP Central Research Institute Director Shin Ho-cheol said, “KHNP contributes to global carbon neutrality through continuous technological exchange and research cooperation with the Czech Republic, and expects the mutual growth of the nuclear industry of the two countries.”
