【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시의회(의장 백인규)는 10일 오전 제1차 본회의를 시작으로 2024년도 첫 정례회 활동에 돌입했다.

이번 정례회에서 시의회는 2024년도 행정사무감사와 시정에 관한 질문, 2023회계연도 세입‧세출 결산 승인안 심사 등을 진행할 예정이다.

이날 본회의에서 김성조 의원은 5분 자유발언을 통해 환호공원 내 스페이스워크 입구 경사로 에스컬레이터 설치의 필요성에 대해 강조하고,최해곤 의원은 상습 침수지역 정비 및 통합적 도시 방재체계 구축 등 폭우와 태풍 대비를 통한 안전도시 포항 조성을 촉구했다.

양윤제 의원은 종합적이고 체계적인 환경 문제 대응 체계 마련을 위한 포항시 대구지방환경청 환경출장소 재설치의 필요성을 강조하고, 김은주 의원은 대구시장과 경북도지사가 일방적으로 추진하고 있는 대구경북통합을 전면 재검토 할 것을 주문했다.

백인규 의장은 개회사를 통해 “제9대 포항시의회의 전반기 마무리를 앞두고 그동안 커다란 관심과 성원을 보내주신 시민 여러분께 감사드린다”며 “앞으로도 처음의 마음가짐 그대로 지역발전과 시민복리증진을 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

또한 “시민의 입장에서 행정 전반에 대해 세심히 살펴 포항시가 나아가야 할 방향과 대안을 제시할 수 있는 미래지향적 행정사무감사를 펼치고, 이번 정례회까지 잘 마무리하여 9대 전반기 의회가 그 어느때 보다 선도적인 의정활동을 펼쳤다는 평가를 받을 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 각오를 밝혔다.

시의회는 제1차 본회의를 시작으로 11일~18일 2024년도 행정사무감사, 19일~20일 시정에 관한 질문, 21일 각 상임위원회별 결산 예비심사, 24일 예산결산특별위원회 결산심사, 25일~27일 각 상임위원회별 조례안 등 심사, 28일 본회의를 열어 기타 안건 등을 의결하고제1차 정례회를 마무리할 예정이다.
