이날 청소년의회교실에는 울릉·남양·저동·천부초등학교 학생 50여명과 지도교사 등이 참여해 학생들이 스스로 작성한 조례안과 건의안에 대해 도의원의 역할을 맡아 실제 본회의 진행방식과 동일하게 회의를 진행했다.

‘독도를 지켜야 합니다’ 및‘은어와 비속어의 사용을 줄입시다’라는주제의 5분 자유발언과‘초등학생 독도 관광 발전에 관한 조례안’,‘경상북도 초등학생 독도 교육 강화에 관한 조례안’,‘초등학생들의 스마트폰 사용 피해 예방을 위한 건의안’,‘청소년법 개정을 위한 건의안’등 총 6건의 안건을 상정하여 처리했다.

청소년의회교실에 참여한 학생들은“교과서로만 배운 의회를 직접 체험해보고 경험해보니 신기하였고, 조례안에 대해서 찬성 반대 의견을 나누고 투표 해 볼 수 있어서 좋았다”라며, 도의원님들이 하는 일을 우리가 진짜 해보니 재미있었다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
