【브레이크뉴스 영천】이성현 기자=영천시의회 의원연구단체인 ‘영천시민운동장 이전 건립 연구회(대표 배수예 의원)’의 연구용역 중간보고회가 지난 24일 의회 간담회장에서 개최됐다.

25일 의회에 따르면 이날 보고회에는 해당 연구모임 소속 배수예 의원, 김상호 의원, 이영기 의원과 연구용역 수행업체 및 시 체육시설사업소, 새마을체육과 관계 공무원 등이 참석한 가운데 연구 중간결과물을 공유하고 노후 영천시민운동장의 이전 건립 방향성에 대한 의견을 교환했다.

연구용역 수행업체는 지난 4월 연구용역 착수보고회 이후 기초자료 분석을 통한 시민운동장 노후화 현황을 분석하고 관련 상위계획 및 법규 검토를 마친 후 시민 설문조사를 실시한 결과 답변자 중 87%의 시민들이 시민운동장 이전 건립 필요성에 긍정적인 답변을 했다고 발표했다.

이어 사업규모와 사업비 등의 분석 및 사업추진의 공공성·활용성·경제성 등 다양한 측면의 타당성 검토를 거쳐 두 곳의 이전 후보지를 추천하고 건립 후 관리·운영 방안 등도 제시하였다. 그리고 질의응답 시간을 통해 참석자들과 중간보고 결과에 대한 의견을 나누고 연구 방향성에 대해 심도 있는 토론의 시간을 가졌다.

향후 연구용역 일정으로 타 지자체 체육시설 현장실사와 전문가 및 관계 공무원 인터뷰를 통하여 다양한 의견들을 수렴하고 최종보고회에서 시민운동장 이전 건립을 위한 최적의 방안을 도출하여 발표하겠다고 밝혔다.

연구모임 대표인 배수예 의원은 “오늘 연구용역 중간보고회를 통해 많은 시민들이 시민운동장 이전 건립의 필요성을 인식하고 있음을 알 수 있어 의미가 크다. 이번 시민운동장 이전건립 연구용역을 통해 시민들의 건강 증진과 안정적인 체육활동을 이어 나갈 수 있도록 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Su-ye Bae, head of the research group, said, “Today’s mid-term report on the research service is meaningful as we can see that many citizens are aware of the necessity of relocating and building a civic playground. “We will do our best to improve the health of citizens and continue stable sports activities through this research service for the relocation and construction of the civic playground,” he said.
