【브레이크뉴스 】박영재 기자=포항시의회(의장 김일만)는 7일 오전 시의회 소회의실에서 의장단‧상임위원장단 정례간담회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

의회에 따르면 이날 의원들은 포항시로부터 동해 심해 가스전 개발 프로젝트, 2024년 을지연습 등 다양한 지역 현안에 대한 설명을 청취하고, 각 상임위별 주요 사항에 대해 정보와 의견을 나누며 내실있고 생산적인 의정활동을 위한 협력방안과 정책방향에 대해 논의했다.

특히, 의원들은 동해 심해 가스전 개발과 관련해 향후 시추 작업 과정 등을 시민들과 공유하고, 지진발생에 대한 시민들의 우려가 큰 만큼 전문가와의 면담결과 등 정확한 정보를 시민들에게 전달해 줄 것을 요청했다.

또한 어업인 피해 최소화를 위해 석유공사 뿐만 아니라 포항시 차원의 대책과 방안을 모색해 줄 것을 강력히 주문했다. 이어 향후 추가 시추시 포항이 하역항만으로 선정될 수 있도록 영일만항 시설 확장, 항만 인프라 구축 등 다각도로 노력해 줄 것을 당부했다.

간담회 후 의원들은 무료급식소인 창포사랑나눔터를 방문해 배식 봉사활동을 펼치고, 관계자들과 오찬을 함께 하며 운영에 관한 건의사항을 들으며 현장 소통의 시간을 가졌다.

김일만 의장은 “앞으로도 지속적으로 각계각층 현장의 목소리를 직접 청취하고, 포항시와 각종 현안에 대해 공유할 수 있는 자리를 만들어가겠다”며, “의회와 포항시, 지역 정치권 모두가 긴밀한 소통과 협조를 통해 시민행복과 지역발전을 위해 힘을 모으자”고 말했다.

시의회는 9대 후반기 출범과 함께 의장단․상임위원장단 간담회와 봉사활동을 매월 7일로 정례화하여 소통과 현장 의정활동을 더욱 강화해 나갈 계획이다.

With the launch of the second half of the 9th term, the city council plans to further strengthen communication and on-site legislative activities by regularizing the meeting of the chairpersons and standing committee chairpersons and volunteer activities on the 7th of every month.
