대구도시개발공사는 1988년 설립된 전국 최초의 도시개발공사로 지난 36년간 택지개발, 산업단지조성, 공공주택건설 등을 통해 대구시민 복리증진을 이루며 내실있는 공기업으로 성장했다.

정명섭 사장은 창사 기념사를 통해 “오늘의 대구도시개발공사가 되기까지 노력해 온 임직원들의 노고에 진심으로 감사드린다”고 격려하고, “향후 대구 미래 50년을 향한 역점사업의 성공적인 추진으로 시민에게 더욱 사랑받는 공기업이 되자”고 덧붙였다.

대구도시개발공사는 대구경북의 미래성장 동력 확보하기 위하여 2030년 개항을 목표로 하는 대구경북 통합신공항 건설사업의 본격 사업추진을 위하여 대구시와 긴밀히 협의하고 있으며, 미래차와 로봇이 융합된 미래모빌리티산업의 메카로 성장할 대구미래스마트기술국가산업단지(제2국가산업단지)의 예비타당성 조사를 준비하는 등 대구 미래 신산업 발판을 마련하는데 박차를 가하고 있다.

또한 이날 창사 기념식에서 지방소멸 및 저출산 문제 극복을 위한 일·생활 양립 결의대회를 개최했다.

정명섭 사장은 ”지방공기업으로서 저출산 극복과 출산·양육을 배려하는 문화를 조성하고 이를 지역사회로 확산하여 지방소멸 및 저출산 문제 극복을 위한 사회적 분위기를 만들겠다“ 고 의지를 다졌다.

Daegu Urban Development Corporation is closely consulting with Daegu City to fully promote the construction of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport, which aims to open in 2030, in order to secure future growth engines for Daegu and Gyeongbuk. It is also preparing a preliminary feasibility study for the Daegu Future Smart Technology National Industrial Complex (2nd National Industrial Complex), which will grow into a mecca for the future mobility industry that combines future cars and robots, and is spurring efforts to establish a foundation for future new industries in Daegu.

In addition, at the foundation ceremony held on this day, a work-life balance resolution meeting was held to overcome the problems of local extinction and low birth rate.

President Jeong Myeong-seop expressed his determination, saying, “As a local public enterprise, we will create a culture that considers birth and childrearing and overcome the low birth rate, and spread this to the local community to create a social atmosphere for overcoming the problems of local extinction and low birth rate.”
