이번 평가는 과수산업 발전 계획과 원예산업 종합 계획을 통합한 원예산업 발전 계획 수립에 따른 관련 거버넌스 통합 운영 및 관리 현황과, 2023년도 과수 생산유통지원사업(과수고품질 시설현대화, 과실전문생산단지 조성 등) 추진실적 보고서와 증빙자료를 바탕으로 평가했다.

김천시는 과수 생산유통 지원사업에서 우수한 성과를 거두었으며 또한, 신품목/품종 개발, 지자체 협력, 환경친화적 사업 등 우수한 정책 추진으로 높은 점수를 받았다.

이번 평가 결과에 따라 김천시는 2025년 FTA 기금사업 사업비 20% 증액 및 FTA사업 사업관리비 1천 1백만 원 인센티브를 받게 되어 소비자가 신뢰하는 고품질 과일 생산에 더욱 박차를 가할 것으로 예상된다.

김충섭 김천시장은“지난해 평가 우수등급에 이어 올해 최우수 등급에 선정되며 농산물의 경쟁력을 확보하고 다양한 시책을 발굴해 좋은 성적을 거둔 것을 발판 삼아 지속적인 과수산업 발전을 이루어 나가는 데 최선을 다하겠다”라고 말했다.
