고용노동부는 양질의 일자리를 창출한 기업을 엄선해 매년 ‘대한민국 일자리 으뜸기업’을 선정하고 있다. 올해는 약 760개 기업을 대상으로 심사를 거쳐 100개 일자리 으뜸기업을 선정했다.

양극소재 핵심 원료인 전구체를 생산하는 에코프로머티리얼즈는 2020년에 이어 올해 일자리 으뜸기업으로 선정됐다. 양질의 일자리 창출과 성과 중심의 임금체계, 노사상생 및 동반성장 노력 등에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

회사가 위치한 포항 지역을 중심으로 2022년부터 2023년까지 2년 동안 350명의 인력을 새롭게 채용했다. 이 결과 2021년 말 기준 178명이었던 근로자 수는 2023년 말 528명으로 350명(197%) 증가했다.

채용인원 중 만 34세 이하 청년은 309명, 여성 및 장애인 등 취업취약계층은 20명이다.

직무와 성과 중심의 임금체계 개편에도 힘쓰고 있다. 운영직 평가제도를 개편해 객관화된 정량지표에 따라 평가급을 지급하고 있고, 사무직 인재개발 학위과정을 시행해 직무 관련 학위과정 비용을 지원하고 있다.

올해 처음으로 일자리 으뜸기업에 선정된 에코프로이엠은 삼성SDI와 에코프로비엠이 합작해 양극소재를 생산하는 회사로 인적 자원의 효율적 관리, 정부 고용노동정책 준수 및 선제적 이행 등에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

에코프로이엠 근로자 수는 2022년 말 292명에서 2023년 말 435명으로 143명 증가했다.

에코프로이엠은 노사간 협력관계를 지속적으로 이어 나가기 위해 노사협의체인 가족협의회를 구성해 매 분기 근무여건 및 복지 등과 관련한 현장의 목소리를 청취하고 있다. 일과 생활의 균형을 실천하기 위해 2023년부터 시차출퇴근제를 도입해 직원이 출퇴근시간을 조정할 수 있도록 했다.

올해 2월부터 기존 3조 2교대이던 교대제를 4조 2교대로 전환하고 교대제 개편에 앞서 신규 인력 122명을 채용해 직원들에게 장시간 근무에 따른 부담을 줄여줬다.

에코프로 관계자는 “에코프로는 일자리 으뜸기업으로 선정된 2개 가족사를 포함해 전 가족사가 양질의 일자리 창출에 기여하기 위해 적극 노력하고 있다”며 “대한민국 이차전지 산업을 이끌 우수한 인재들이 마음껏 꿈을 펼칠 수 있도록 다양한 복지와 지원제도 마련에 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다

EcoPro Materials and EcoPro EM selected as ‘Top Job Companies’

EcoPro Materials and EcoPro EM, family companies of the EcoPro Group, were each selected as ‘Top Job Companies in Korea 2024’ by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

It hired 350 new employees over the two years from 2022 to 2023, focusing on the Pohang area where the company is located. As a result, the number of workers, which was 178 at the end of 2021, increased by 350 (197%) to 528 at the end of 2023.

Of the new hires, 309 are young people under the age of 34, and 20 are women and people with disabilities who are vulnerable to employment.

We are reorganizing the operational evaluation system to pay evaluation grades based on objective quantitative indicators, and are implementing a degree program for developing office workers' talents to support the cost of degree programs related to job duties.

EcoProEM, which was selected as the best job company for the first time this year, is a company that produces cathode materials through a joint venture between Samsung SDI and EcoProBM, and was highly evaluated for efficient management of human resources, compliance with government employment and labor policies, and preemptive implementation.

In order to continue the cooperative relationship between labor and management, EcoPro EM has formed a labor-management council, the Family Council, and listens to the voices of the field regarding working conditions and welfare every quarter. In order to practice work-life balance, the company introduced a flexible work schedule starting in 2023, allowing employees to adjust their commuting times.

Starting in February of this year, the existing 3-team, 2-shift system was changed to 4-team, 2-shift, and 122 new employees were hired ahead of the shift system reorganization to reduce the burden of long working hours for employees.
