【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시의회(의장 김일만) 의장단 및 각 상임위원장은 9일 의회 소회의실에서 포항시 간부 공무원들과 지역 현안을 공유하고 논의하는 소통간담회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

의회는 이날 포항시로부터 2024년 제2회 추가경정예산 편성계획, 호미반도 해양보호구역 확대지정, 공공주도 해상풍력 단지개발 사업, 환동해 호국역사 문화관 건립, 글로벌 기업혁신파크 등 포항시 민자사업 추진현황, 포항역 주차장 확충, 어르신 등 대중교통 무료승차 사업 등 다양한 현안에 대한 설명을 청취하고 향후 정책방향과 협력방안에 대해 논의했다.

이날 의원들은 소상공인 특례보증지원 사업비 추가 출연 등 민생과 지역경제 회복을 위한 추경예산 편성에 만전을 다해 줄 것을 주문하고, 지난 1월 준공된 장애인형 국민체육센터가 아직도 정상적으로 이용되지 못하고 있음을 지적하며 장애인과 아동 시설 등에 대해 시에서 설계부터 세밀한 검토를 해줄 것을 요청했다.

이어 해양보호구역이 확대 지정시 제한사항 발생으로 적극적인 개발에 어려움이 발생 될 수 있음을 우려하며, 호미곶 국가해양정원 조성, 공공주도 해상풍력 단지 개발 사업 등과의 연계 개발을 통해 시너지 효과가 발생할 수 있도록 노력해줄 것을 당부했다.

또한 해상풍력 단지 개발사업과 관련해 주민 참여와 주민 수용성 확보를 강조하며, 주민의 사업 참여 제도에 대해 적극 홍보하고 사업추진시 지역 주민, 어민 등 실질적 이해당사자들이 주민대표로 참여할 수 있도록 해 줄 것을 강력히 요청했다.

이어 의원들은 지역 MICE산업 육성을 위해 특급호텔 유치의 시급성과 중요성을 강조하고, 도심의 구. 포항역 부지 복합개발 추진이 원활히 이루어져 포항의 새로운 랜드마크가 될 수 있도록 노력해 줄 것을 당부했다.

마지막으로 호국역사 문화관, 추모공원 조성 시 이용객들의 편의를 위해 진입도로 확보 등에 만전을 기하고, 포항역 주차장 확충과 흥해지역 인구 유입에 따른 달전 오거리 일대 교통체증 개선방안을 조속히 마련해 시민 불편을 최소화 해줄 것을 주문했다.

포항시도 당면 현안사업에 대해 의회와 긴밀히 소통하고 지역사회에 미칠 영향에 대해서도 충분한 검토를 거쳐 적극적으로 추진해 나가겠다고 말했다.

김일만 의장은 “의회와 집행기관 간 시정 현안업무에 대해 심도있게 논의하는 뜻깊은 자리였다”며 “앞으로도 시정 주요 사업에 시민의 뜻이 올바르게 반영될 수 있도록 포항시와 적극적으로 소통하며 시민 행복과 지역 발전을 위해 함께 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
