경북과학축전은 경상북도가 주최해 과학과 함께하는 일상을 만들고 과학문화를 확산해 미래 과학 꿈나무들을 키우는 축제로 과학에 대한 갈증을 해소하는 좋은 기회가 될 것으로 보인다.

안동시는 일반인들과 학생들이 과학에 대한 흥미를 느끼고 생활 속에 숨어있는 과학과 친숙해지도록 다채로운 프로그램을 구성할 계획이다. 인공지능, 로봇, 가상현실(VR), 드론 등 최첨단 기술을 직접 체험할 수 있는부스를 마련하고 과학마술 콘서트, 로봇공연도 선보일 예정이다.

또한, 지역기업과 협력해 과학 기술 박람회와 경북지역 과학 기술 산업 현황을 한눈에 볼 수 있는 자리도 마련한다.

안동시 관계자는 “내년 상반기에 3일간 행사를 개최할 예정”이라며 “과학은 일상 속에 있고 재미있다는 인식을 확산해 과학과 함께 미래를 꿈꾸는 지역 과학문화 발전에 최선을 다하겠다”라고 전했다.
