POSCO Holds ‘2024 Sustainable Materials Forum’ with Customers
POSCO held the ‘2024 Sustainable Materials Forum’ at COEX in Seoul for three days starting on the 7th.
This year, the theme was ‘Materials that Open a Sustainable Future, Innovation with Customers’, and around 1,000 people from 500 domestic and international customer companies leading major industries such as automobiles, shipbuilding, energy, construction, and home appliances, including Hyundai Motor Company, Toyota, Honda, Hanwha Ocean, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, Samsung Electronics, and LG Electronics, attended the forum, making it a great success.
This forum is a POSCO customer invitation event that has been held every two years since 2010, and this year, it was held under the name of ‘Sustainable Materials Forum’ to reflect the new management vision of the POSCO Group.
In his welcoming remarks, POSCO CEO Lee Si-woo introduced the '2024 Sustainable Materials Forum' and expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support of customers. He said, "POSCO Group puts our customers' growth first and will do our best to be a consistent successful partner in the future."
This year's forum was composed of a total of 16 carefully selected lectures, including lectures on a wide range of themes such as industrial economic outlook, ESG, and AI, as well as sessions specialized in the steel and secondary battery materials industries, breaking away from the existing industry-specific lectures.
The keynote lecture was given by world-renowned futurist and best-selling author Ross Dawson on 'Corporate Innovation for a Sustainable Future', followed by Professor Son Il of Yonsei University and Professor Jeong In-ho of Seoul National University on 'Low-carbon Steel, Challenges and Opportunities', and Professor Daniel Lee of Cornell University on 'AI Technology, Digital Transformation of Manufacturing', exploring the crises and opportunities facing the manufacturing industry and suggesting survival strategies for the future.
In particular, in this forum, in order to support customer success in terms of shared growth, a MEET UP program was held for networking among the participating customers, providing a meeting place where new businesses could be created through mutual communication between similar industries and interested industries.
In addition, POSCO broke away from the existing exhibition method of focusing on introducing its technologies and products by organizing exhibition booths where customers could promote their products, which received a great response with 44 companies participating. In addition, in order to strengthen communication with customers, not only sales staff working at customer contact points but also about 100 engineers from Pohang and Gwangyang Steelworks attended, increasing satisfaction.
On the last day, the 9th, a tour program for Pohang and Gwangyang Steelworks was held for overseas customers, allowing them to directly see the vivid production of the products they purchase, and a Seoul cultural experience program including the Blue House was also held. <저작권자 ⓒ 브레이크뉴스 대구경북 무단전재 및 재배포 금지>
