‘찾아가는 공동체 치안’ 활동은 지역축제장 등 다중운집장소에 방문하여 범죄예방홍보 등 주민접촉형 범죄예방활동을 추진하는 것을 말한다.

이번 축제기간 문경시민으로 구성된 문경시자율방범대 대원 185여명과 함께 범죄예방을 위한 홍보활동 및 순찰활동 등 공동체 치안활동을 펼쳤다.

또한, 경북경찰청 기동순찰대도 축제장 주변 순찰을 강화하여 축제기간 동안 안전하게 축제가 마무리 될 수 있도록 노력했다.

김말수 서장은 “예년보다 많은 관광객이 문경새재를 찾아오셨고, 안전한 축제를 위해 최선을 다해준 자율방범대에 감사를 전하며, 경찰은 앞으로도지역 치안을 위해 범죄예방 활동을 지속적으로 실시하겠다”고 밝혔다.
