29일 영양군에 따르면 2020년 7월 개장한 영양군 로컬푸드직매장은 소비자 인식 제고 및 출하자 및 출하 품목 확대, 제휴푸드 입점, 할인행사 등 다양한 노력을 해오고 있으며 무엇보다 싱싱하고 신선한 채소들로 인기를 누리고 있다.

이와 함께 지역농업의 특성상 채소류의 연중 공급이 어렵고, 최근 급변하는 기후 위기에 대응하고자 고민하던 중 스마트팜 기술을 접목한‘산소수 식물 재배기’를 도입해 새로운 변화를 시작했다.

스마트팜 기술을 활용한 채소는 최첨단 재배시설에서 자라며, 자동화된 시스템을 통해 최적의 성장 환경을 제공받아 생산한다.

이렇게 생산된 신선 채소는 겨울철 로컬푸드직매장의 자랑거리가 될 것이며, 교육기관과 연계하여 체험 프로그램으로 활용하여 학생들에게 지역 농산물에 대한 친근함도 제공할 예정이다.

오도창 영양군수는 “영양군 로컬푸드직매장은 지금까지 많은 변화와 성과를 내고 있으며, 이번 식물 재배기의 도입은 소량이지만 연중 생산 가능하다는 점에서 큰 의미가 있다.”라며 “앞으로도 지역 농산물의 품질을 높이고 소비자에게 더 나은 서비스를 제공하기 위해 다양한 노력을 기울일 계획”이라고 말했다.
