시의회는 ‘포항시의회 의원 공무국외출장에 관한 조례’에 따라 총 7명의 심사위원을 위촉했으며, 심사위원회는 교육계, 법조계, 시민사회단체 등에서 활동하고 있는 5명의 민간위원과 2명의 시의원으로 구성됐다.

심사위원들은 2년의 임기동안 내실 있는 공무국외출장 제도운영을 위해 출장 필요성 및 출장자의 적합성, 출장국‧출장기관의 타당성, 출장기간 및 출장경비의 적정성 등을 종합적으로 심사·검토할 예정이다.

김일만 의장은“공무국외출장이 목적에 맞게 내실 있게 추진될 수 있도록 엄격하게 심사해 줄 것을 당부드린다”며, “의회 또한 시민들이 공감하고 신뢰할 수 있는 공무국외출장 제도가 정착될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
