【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구광역시는 2024년 전국 도서관 평가에서 4개 분야 5개의 기관 표창을 수상했다고 11일 밝혔다.

시에 따르면 먼저 서비스, 협력, 경영계획 등 7개 항목 12개 지표로 심사한 공공도서관 운영 분야에서 수성구의 고산·용학 2개 도서관이 우수 도서관으로 선정됐다.

2023년부터 문화체육관광부에서 각 지자체로 운영평가 업무가 이관된 이후 대구시에서는 설명회 개최 등 지역 공공도서관과 지속적으로 운영에 대한 현장 진단과 개선사항을 반영해 왔다.

그 결과 올해 전국 공공도서관 1,236개관 중(총 27개 도서관 수상) 고산·용학도서관이 우수도서관으로 선정되는 성과를 거뒀다.

올해 신설된 작은도서관 분야에서는 전국 작은도서관 6,899개관 중(총 4개 작은도서관 수상) 서변동작은도서관이 우수 작은도서관으로 선정돼 문화체육관광부 장관표창을 수상했다.

서변동작은도서관은 역사특화도서관으로 선사시대 역사 유적지라는 지역 특성을 이용해 각종 선사시대 유적 전시 및 역사 관련 독서문화 프로그램을 진행했으며, 19시까지 개관시간을 연장하는 등 지역사회에서 문화적 거점공간으로의 역할을 인정받았다.

전국도서관 혁신 사례 분야에서는 달서다문화가족작은도서관이 이주민과 선주민이 함께 만들어가는 문화 다양성 동화를 기반으로 한 가상현실(VR) 동극, 라디오 방송, 샌드아트 콘텐츠 공연단 등 미디어 콘텐츠를 제작해, 문화적 차이를 넘어선 소통과 협력의 장을 마련한 우수 혁신사례로 인정돼 문화체육관광부 장관상을 수상했다.

올해는 특히 대구의 대표도서관인 국채보상운동기념도서관이 지난해에 리모델링을 완료하고 현대화된 복합문화공간으로 재개관해 도서관 협력분야에서 장관 기관표창을 수상해 기쁨을 더했다.

전국 최초로 공공도서관 시설을 활용한 독서 기반 돌봄서비스인 ‘늘봄형 도서관 학교’ 모델 기획과 시니어 인력 활용 등 지역 사회와 협력해 운영 성과를 이뤄낸 점이 높은 평가를 받은 것으로 파악된다.

김종찬 대구시 대학정책국장은 “2025년에도 지속적으로 도서관 현장을 분석하고 지원해, 도서관 서비스 향상을 도모하여 시민들이 양질의 도서 대출서비스와 문화향유 기회를 최대한 누릴 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

Seobyeon-dong Small Library is a history-specialized library that utilizes the regional characteristics of a prehistoric historical site to hold various prehistoric relic exhibitions and history-related reading culture programs, and has been recognized for its role as a cultural hub in the local community by extending its opening hours until 7 p.m.

In the national library innovation case category, Dalseo Multicultural Family Small Library was recognized as an excellent innovation case that created a venue for communication and cooperation beyond cultural differences by producing media content such as a virtual reality (VR) play, radio broadcast, and sand art content performance group based on cultural diversity fairy tales created by immigrants and indigenous people together, and received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award.

This year, Daegu’s representative library, the National Debt Redemption Movement Memorial Library, completed remodeling last year and reopened as a modernized complex cultural space, winning the Minister’s Award in the library cooperation field, adding to the joy.

It is understood that the planning of the ‘Nulbom-type Library School’ model, the first reading-based care service utilizing public library facilities in the country, and the utilization of senior human resources, etc., were highly evaluated for achieving operational results through cooperation with the local community.

Kim Jong-chan, Director of Daegu City’s University Policy Bureau, said, “We will continue to analyze and support the library field in 2025, and strive to improve library services so that citizens can enjoy high-quality book lending services and cultural experiences to the fullest extent possible.”
