【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=더불어민주당 대구시당이 “홍준표 대구시장의 막말과 망언에 경악을 금치 않을 수 없다”고 18일 밝혔다.

홍준표 대구시장은 윤석열 대통령의 비상계엄 사태를 ‘해프닝’, ‘좌파의 프레임’ 등으로 표현하며 옹호하는 발언을 이어가고 있다.

이에 대해 민주당 대구시당은 “홍 시장이 내란 범죄 세력과 탄핵 반대 세력에 대해 반국민‧반헌법적 궤변으로 포장하기 급급하다”고 비판했다.

이들은 “홍 시장의 망언은 시민의 생명과 안전을 책임지는 공복으로서 용납될 수 없는 발언”이라며 “최근 발언에 대해 무릎 꿇고 사죄해야 할 것”이라고 말했다.

또한 “홍 시장은 그릇된 법관과 어설픈 궤변으로 윤석열의 내란 행위를 부인하고 있다”며 “이는 시민들의 상식과 애국심 가득한 목소리를 부정하는 것”이라고 꼬집었다.

민주당 대구시당은 “헌법 기관인 국회 기능을 마비시키기 위해 경찰 4,200명, 군인 1,718명을 투입해 국회의원의 출입을 막고 국헌을 문란하게 하려는 시도가 내란이 아니면 무엇이 내란인가”라고 반문했다.

그러면서 “홍 시장은 LA폭동을 운운하며 국민의 눈을 흐리게 만들려 하지만, 12.12 군사반란도 LA폭동 같은 정도의 폭동이라 내란이 된 것이 아니다”고 강조했다.

이와 함께 “홍 시장의 극우 막말 정치, 그 끝은 뻔하다”며 “간교한 혀놀림과 궤변으로는 더 이상 대구 시민을 속일 수 없다”고 맹공을 퍼부었다.

민주당 대구시당은 “대구 시민들은 홍 시장의 이성을 잃은 막말과 거짓 선동에 현혹되지 않을 것”이라며 “대구 시민의 현명한 선택은 앞으로도 대한민국의 미래를 밝힐 것”이라고 덧붙였다.
