【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구광역시는 19일 행정안전부 주최 ‘제17회 대한민국 지방재정대상’ 시상식에서 예산 절감 분야에서 국무총리상을 수상하여 특별교부세 2억 원을 확보했다고 밝혔다.

대구시는 ‘전국 최초 신기술플랫폼을 활용한 예산 절감’ 건으로 국무총리상 수상의 영예를 안아 행정안전부에서 재정 인센티브로 특별교부세 2억 원을 확보했다.

지방재정대상은 행정안전부가 전국 지방자치단체의 우수 재정 운영 사례를 전파·공유 및 확산을 위해 예산 절감, 지방보조금 혁신, 세입증대 분야에서 우수 지자체를 선정하는, 2008년부터 개최한 재정 분야 최고 권위의 상이다.

대구시는 대구의 미래 먹거리를 위해 신기술 개발을 유도하고, 개발된 신기술을 적극 활용하기 위하여 전국 최초로 ‘신기술 플랫폼’을 구축해 운영하고 있다.

신기술플랫폼을 활용한 계약심사를 통해 121억 원 절감, 신기술 활용 심의를 통해 66억 원 절감, 물품 선정 심사를 통해 14억 원 절감 등 총 201억 원이라는 예산을 절감하는 성과를 이루었다.

홍준표 대구광역시장은 “대구시가 추진한 재정혁신의 노력들이 3년 연속으로 우수사례로 인정받아 큰 보람을 느낀다”며, “절감된 예산은 세수 부족 재원으로 충당하고, 시민 경제 활성화 사업에 재투자하는 등 지역 경제 활성화에 뒷받침 하겠다”고 말했다.

Daegu Metropolitan City announced on the 19th that it won the Prime Minister’s Award in the budget reduction category at the ‘17th Republic of Korea Local Finance Award’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, securing 200 million won in special grants.

Daegu City was honored with the Prime Minister’s Award for ‘Budget Reduction Using New Technology Platform for the First Time in the Nation’ and secured 200 million won in special grants as a financial incentive from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The Local Finance Award is the most prestigious award in the financial field that has been held since 2008 by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to select excellent local governments in the areas of budget reduction, local subsidy innovation, and tax revenue increase in order to disseminate, share, and expand excellent financial management practices of local governments nationwide.

Daegu City is the first in the nation to establish and operate a ‘New Technology Platform’ to induce the development of new technologies for Daegu’s future food and to actively utilize the new technologies developed.

By utilizing the new technology platform for contract review, 12.1 billion won was saved, 6.6 billion won was saved through the new technology utilization review, and 1.4 billion won was saved through the product selection review, resulting in a total budget reduction of 20.1 billion won.

Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo said, “I feel a great sense of accomplishment that the efforts of Daegu City in financial innovation have been recognized as best practices for three consecutive years,” and added, “We will use the reduced budget to cover the shortfall in tax revenue and reinvest it in projects to vitalize the local economy.”
