【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=한국수력원자력(사장 황주호, 이하 한수원)은 19일(현지시간) 루마니아 수도 부쿠레슈티에 위치한 루마니아원자력공사(SNN)에서 체르나보다 1호기설비개선사업 최종 계약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

한수원에 따르면 이번 사업은 월성원전과 동일한 캔두(CANDU)형 중수로인 체르나보다 원전 1호기의 운영허가 기간이 만료됨에 따라 추가 30년 계속운전을 목표로 진행하는약 2.8조원 규모의 프로젝트다.

루마니아원자력공사가 발주한 이번 프로젝트에 한수원은 캐나다 캔두 에너지(Candu Energy), 이탈리아 안살도 뉴클리어(Ansaldo Nucleare)와 함께 컨소시엄을구성하여 주계약자로 참여하며, 내년 2월부터 공사에 착수해 약 65개월 동안 설비개선을 수행할 계획이다.

이번 프로젝트에서 체르나보다 1호기의 원공급사인 캔두에너지는 원자로 계통,안살도 뉴클리어는 터빈발전기 계통의 설계와 기자재 구매를각각 맡는다. 한수원은주기기 교체 등 시공 총괄과 방사성 폐기물저장시설 등 주요 인프라 시설 건설을담당하며, 계약규모는 약 1.2조원이다. 한수원의 협력업체로 한전KPS, 두산에너빌리티, 현대건설, 삼성물산 등이 시공･건설에 참여할 예정이다.

황주호 한수원 사장은 “이번 수주는 한수원이 50여 년간 축적한 운영·정비 분야기술력을 글로벌 원전 시장에서 다시 한번 인정받은 사례”라며, “체르나보다 원전의성공적인 설비개선을 통해 한수원의 글로벌 입지를 강화할 것”이라고 밝혔다.

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Signs Contract for Romanian Nuclear Power Plant Improvement Project

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (President Hwang Joo-ho, hereinafter referred to as KHNP) announced on the 19th (local time) that it signed the final contract for the Cernavoda Unit 1 facility improvement project at the Romanian Nuclear Energy Corporation (SNN) located in Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

According to KHNP, this project is a project worth approximately KRW 2.8 trillion that aims to continue operation of the Cernavoda Unit 1, a CANDU-type heavy water reactor identical to the Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant, for an additional 30 years as its operating license expires.

KHNP is participating as the main contractor in this project commissioned by the Romanian Nuclear Energy Corporation by forming a consortium with Canada's Candu Energy and Italy's Ansaldo Nucleare, and plans to begin construction in February next year and perform facility improvement for approximately 65 months.

In this project, Candu Energy, the primary supplier of Cernavoda Unit 1, will be in charge of the design of the reactor system, while Ansaldo Nuclear will be in charge of the turbine generator system design and equipment purchase. KHNP will be in charge of the overall construction, including the replacement of main equipment, and the construction of major infrastructure facilities, including the radioactive waste storage facility. The contract size is approximately KRW 1.2 trillion. KHNP’s partner companies, including KEPCO KPS, Doosan Energy, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, and Samsung C&T, are expected to participate in the construction and construction.

Hwang Joo-ho, president of KHNP, said, “This order is an example of KHNP’s 50-year-old accumulated operational and maintenance technology being recognized once again in the global nuclear power plant market,” and added, “We will strengthen KHNP’s global position through the successful facility improvement of the Cernavoda nuclear power plant.”
