【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경산시(시장 조현일) 와촌면 소재 ‘경산 신한리 근대가옥’이 지난 12월 16일 경상북도 등록문화유산으로 등록됐다.

27일 경산시에 따르면‘경산 신한리 근대가옥’은 와촌면 신한길 68-3에 위치한 1940년대 전후에 건립된 주택으로, 무학산 북쪽에 자리한 집이라는 의미에서 ‘학음유거(鶴陰幽居)’로 불리던 곳이다.

이번에 등록된 문화유산은 사랑채, 안채, 대문채, 사과창고 등 총 4동으로, 보존 상태가 양호하며 건립 당시 원형이 잘 유지된 건축물이다.

이 가옥은 대문채의 형식, 사랑채의 평면 구성, 안채의 공간 배치 등에서 일제강점기 후반의 근대 한옥 특징을 잘 보여준다.

또한, 건축주의 취향과 경제력, 지역 고유의 생업과 관련된 시설을 고스란히 간직하고 있어 우리나라 주거 건축 양식의 변화 과정을 엿볼 수 있는 건축물로 평가받아 경상북도 등록문화유산으로 최종 등록되었다.

등록문화유산은 원형보존원칙 아래 엄격히 관리되는 지정유산과 달리, 보존과 활용을 조화롭게 운영하는 제도로, 일제강점기 이후 근대에 생성·건축된 유물 및 유적을 중심으로 등록된다.

경산시는 이번 ‘경산 신한리 근대가옥’의 등록으로, 기존의 이육사 친필원고 ‘바다의 마음’과 로제타 홀 한글점자 교재에 이어 세 번째 등록문화유산을 보유하게 됐다.

조현일 경산시장은 “‘경산 신한리 근대가옥’은 경상북도 등록문화유산으로, 우리시 근대 건축물 중 최초로 등록된 유산이라는 점에서 큰 의미를 갖는다”며, “앞으로도 구)경산군립도서관, 삼남동 근대가옥 등 지역 내 근대유산의 보존과 활용을 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Gyeongsan City (Mayor Cho Hyun-il) ‘Gyeongsan Shinhan-ri Modern House’ located in Wachaon-myeon was registered as a Gyeongsangbuk-do registered cultural heritage on December 16.

According to Gyeongsan City on the 27th, ‘Gyeongsan Shinhan-ri Modern House’ is a house built around the 1940s located at 68-3 Shinhan-gil, Wachaon-myeon, and was called ‘Hak-eum-yugeo (鶴陰幽居)’ as it was located on the north side of Muhaksan.

The cultural heritage registered this time consists of a total of 4 buildings including Sarangchae, Anchae, Daemunchae, and Apple Warehouse, which are in good condition and are well-preserved in their original form at the time of construction.

This house shows the characteristics of modern Hanok from the latter half of the Japanese colonial period in terms of the form of the main gate, the floor plan of the Sarangchae, and the spatial arrangement of the Anchae.

In addition, it was evaluated as a building that allows a glimpse into the changing process of Korean residential architecture style by fully preserving the tastes and economic power of the builder and the facilities related to the unique livelihood of the region, and was finally registered as a Gyeongsangbuk-do registered cultural heritage.

Unlike designated heritages that are strictly managed under the principle of original preservation, registered cultural heritages are a system that operates preservation and utilization in harmony, and are registered with a focus on relics and sites created and built in modern times after the Japanese colonial period.

With the registration of the ‘Gyeongsan Shinhan-ri Modern House’ this time, Gyeongsan City has its third registered cultural heritage following the existing manuscript ‘Heart of the Sea’ by Lee Yuk-sa and the Rosetta Hall Korean Braille textbook.

Gyeongsan Mayor Cho Hyun-il said, “‘Gyeongsan Shinhan-ri Modern House’ is a Gyeongsangbuk-do registered cultural heritage, and it is very meaningful in that it is the first registered heritage among modern buildings in our city,” and added, “We will continue to make efforts to preserve and utilize modern heritages in the region, such as the former Gyeongsan County Library and Samnam-dong Modern House.”
