울릉군에 따르면 울릉사랑상품권 이용 활성화에 관한 조례가 개정됨에 따라, 이같이 상향됐으며 올해 첫 발행은 2025년 1월 6일에 시작되며, 10억원 규모의 상품권이 발행된다.

울릉사랑상품권은 이용자들에게 10% 할인된 가격으로 지역에서 생산·유통되는 상품을 구매할 수 있게 함으로써, 지역자금의 외부유출을 방지하고, 관내 소비 촉진을 유도하여 소상공인들의 소득 증대 및 지역경제 활성화에 기여하는 등 발행액 전체가 소비로 이어지는 낙관적인 경제적 효과를 유발한다.

또한, 모바일 결제 이용 시 가맹점주들은 신용카드 결제 수수료 부담을 줄일 수 있고, 소비자들은 연말정산 시 30%의 소득공제 혜택을 받을 수 있다.

울릉사랑상품권은 3가지 유형으로 발행되고 있다. 지류형 상품권은 관내 금융기관(NH농협, 울릉농협, 울릉군 수협, 울릉 새마을금고)을 방문하여 구매할 수 있고, 모바일형 및 카드형 상품권은 스마트폰 앱 ‘지역상품권 chak’ 설치 후 연결된 계좌를 통해 충전 후 사용할 수 있다. 카드형 상품권은 관내 농협은행, 수협은행을 방문하여 신청 및 발급 후 체크카드 형태로 이용할 수 있다.
