이날 의원들은 나눔의집을 찾은 어르신들께 새해인사를 드린 후 손수 음식을 배식하고 잔반처리와 식기정리 등 봉사활동을 하며 새해 덕담을 건넸다.

김일만 의장은“새해를 맞아 지역사회 곳곳에 따뜻한 온기를 전해 줄 수 있어 감사하다”며, “앞으로도 지속적인 봉사활동을 통해 시민들과 더 가까이에서 소통하며 시민들이 필요로 하는 곳은 어디든 찾아가는 포항시의회가 되도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 포항시의회는 지난해 7월 후반기 의정활동 시작 이후 매월 봉사활동을 펼치며 시민과 함께하는 현장소통 의정 구현을 위해 노력하고 있다.
