【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구보건대학교(총장 남성희)는 지난 6일부터 10일까지 제주 금호리조트에서 열린 ‘2024학년도 WCC GET 올레 Project in JEJU’에 재학생들이 전문대학 혁신지원사업의 일환으로 참가했다고 15일 밝혔다.

글로벌 시민 역량 강화와 국제적 취창업 능력을 배양하기 위한 ‘WCC GET 올레 프로젝트 in JEJU’는 전국 WCC 소속 17개 대학의 재학생 51명이 참가해 ▲제주의 지속가능발전목표(SDGs) 사례 탐방 ▲디자인 씽킹 워크숍 ▲팀별 프로젝트 및 발표 ▲멘토링 교육을 통해 창의적 문제 해결과 글로벌 협력 능력을 배양했다.

대구보건대학교에서는 치기공학과 2학년 배원빈, 작업치료학과 1학년 홍지영, 안경광학과 2학년 김민재 등 3명의 재학생이 참가했다. 이들은 이번 프로젝트 경진대회에서 각각 대상, 최우수상, 우수상을 수상하는 쾌거를 이뤘다.

이번 행사에서 배원빈 학생이 속한 팀은 ‘충남 예산 지역 청년 관광객 유치를 위한 예산 브랜드화 사업’을 주제로 발표하며 대상을 수상했다.

발표는 관광 인프라 부족으로 청년층의 방문이 저조한 문제를 해결하기 위해 ▲관광택시와 카셰어링 도입 ▲빈집 리모델링 지원 ▲관광지 탐험 모바일 게임 개발 등을 제안해 실질적이고 창의적인 방안으로 높은 평가를 받았다.

치기공학과 2학년 배원빈 학생(22·남)은 “프로젝트를 통해 창의적 문제 해결과 협업의 중요성을 배우며 한 단계 성장할 수 있었다”며, “지역사회와 글로벌 무대에서 기여할 수 있는 인재로 발전하고 싶다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

이영은 혁신지원사업단장(치위생학과 교수)은 “학생들이 국제적 시각을 넓히고 창의적 해결 방안을 도출하며 이번 프로젝트에서 뛰어난 성과를 거둔 것을 자랑스럽게 생각한다”며, “앞으로도 학생들이 글로벌 무대에서 활약할 수 있도록 다양한 프로그램을 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

 Daegu Health College participates in 2024 WCC GET Olle Project

Daegu Health College (President Nam Sung-hee) announced on the 15th that its students participated in the ‘2024 WCC GET Olle Project in JEJU’ held at Jeju Kumho Resort from the 6th to the 10th as part of the technical college innovation support project.

The ‘WCC GET Olle Project in JEJU’, which aims to strengthen global citizenship and cultivate international entrepreneurship capabilities, involved 51 students from 17 universities affiliated with WCC nationwide, and fostered creative problem solving and global cooperation capabilities through ▲ Jeju’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) case study tour ▲ Design Thinking Workshop ▲ Team projects and presentations ▲ Mentoring education.

Three students from Daegu Health College participated: Bae Won-bin, a sophomore in the Department of Dental Engineering, Hong Ji-young, a freshman in the Department of Occupational Therapy, and Kim Min-jae, a sophomore in the Department of Optometry. They achieved the feat of winning the grand prize, first prize, and excellence prize in this project competition.

At this event, the team that student Wonbin Bae was a part of presented on the topic of ‘Yesan Branding Project for Attracting Young Tourists to Yesan, Chungnam Province’ and won the grand prize.

The presentation was highly evaluated as a practical and creative solution that proposed ▲ introduction of tourist taxis and car sharing ▲ support for remodeling empty houses ▲ development of mobile games for exploring tourist sites to solve the problem of low visitation by young people due to lack of tourism infrastructure.

Bae Wonbin (22, male), a second-year student in the Department of Dental Technology, said, “Through this project, I was able to learn the importance of creative problem solving and collaboration and grow to the next level,” and expressed his aspiration, saying, “I want to develop into a talent who can contribute to the local community and the global stage.”

Lee Young-eun, head of the Innovation Support Project Team (professor of Dental Hygiene), said, “I am proud that the students broadened their international perspectives, came up with creative solutions, and achieved outstanding results in this project,” and added, “We will continue to support various programs so that the students can be active on the global stage.”
