이 시장은 이날 회의에서 민생경제 안정 및 지역 경기 회복을 위해 예산신속 집행에 행정력을 집중해 줄 것을 주문했다.

시는 신속 집행 대상액 1조 6,854억 원 중 62%인 1조 450억 원을 상반기 집행 목표액으로 정하고, 어려운 지역경제에 활력을 불어넣겠다는 방침이다.

이를 위해 이 시장은 10억 이상의 대규모 투자사업은 국장들이 직접 챙기며 사업별 공정 및 집행 상황을 집중적으로 관리할 것을 당부했으며, 목표액을 달성할 수 있도록 연초부터 사전행정절차 이행 준비 등에 철저를 기할 것을 지시했다.

이와 함께 지난해부터 강조해 온 ‘착한소비 활성화’가 이어질 수 있도록 시민들에게 홍보하는 한편 전통시장 릴레이 장보기 챌린지 등을 지속 추진해 경기 침체와 물가 상승으로 어려움을 겪는 소상공인들에게 힘을 실어줄 것을 주문했다.

아울러 이 시장은 국가 인공지능(AI) 전략의 핵심 정책인 ‘국가 인공지능(AI) 컴퓨팅 센터’ 유치에 사활을 걸고, AI 대전환 시대의 혁신을 이끄는 중심도시를 선점해 미래 포항의 경쟁력을 획기적으로 높여나가자고 강조했다.

이밖에도 이날 회의에서 이 시장은 설 연휴 기간 동안 시민들의 안전과 편의를 위해 비상근무에 임한 직원들의 노고에 감사를 전했다.

포항시는 설 연휴 기간인 6일간 재난·재해, 경제, 교통, 청소·환경, 보건 등 15개 반 496명으로 편성된 종합상황실을 가동해 시민 불편 사항과 안전사고 등 각종 돌발상황에 대처했다.
