【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시교육청은 만학도 253명이 방송통신중·고에서 졸업의 영예를 안았다고 7일 밝혔다.

오는 9일 오전 10시 대구고, 경상중에서 방송통신중·고의 졸업식이 개최된다.

방송통신중・고는 인터넷 기반 원격수업과 월 2회 일요일 출석수업을 통해 3년간 교육과정을 이수하면 정규 중・고등학교 졸업장을 수여한다.

올해 중학교 졸업생은 87명(남 7명, 여 80명)으로 평균연령은 65.3세, 고등학교 졸업생은 166명(남 30명, 여 136명)으로 평균연령은 60세이다.

특히 ‘학교외 학습경험인정제’에 근거해 학칙에서 정하는 바에 따라 교육 과정을 조기에 이수한 중학교 1명, 고등학교 7명이 조기졸업했다. 

중학교 졸업생 87명 중 82명이 방송통신고에 진학(94.2%)했으며, 방송통신고 졸업생 166명 중 105명이 대학에 합격해(63.3%) 배움을 이어 나간다.

고등학교 졸업생 박주 학생은 “학급 반장으로서 책임감을 가지고 빠짐없이 출석하며 배움의 기쁨을 알았고, 전국방송통신고등학교학예경연대회에서 소묘 실력을 뽐내 대상을 받았던 일이 특히 기억에 남는다”며 “성장에는 나이가 걸림돌이 되지 않는다는 것을 알아서 행복하다”는 소감을 밝혔다. 

강은희 교육감은 “값진 결실을 맺은 졸업생 여러분께 뜨거운 격려와 존경의 마음을 전하며, 앞으로도 배움의 시기를 놓친 분들의 학습지원에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

Broadcasting Middle and High Schools award regular middle and high school diplomas to students who complete the three-year curriculum through internet-based remote classes and in-person classes held twice a month on Sundays.

This year, there are 87 middle school graduates (7 males, 80 females) with an average age of 65.3, and 166 high school graduates (30 males, 136 females) with an average age of 60.

In particular, based on the ‘Out-of-School Learning Experience Recognition System,’ one middle school student and seven high school students who completed the curriculum early according to the school regulations graduated early.

Among 87 middle school graduates, 82 went on to Broadcasting High School (94.2%), and among 166 Broadcasting High School graduates, 105 were accepted to college (63.3%) and continued their studies.

High school graduate Park Joo said, “As a class president, I attended class without fail with a sense of responsibility and learned the joy of learning, and I especially remember winning the grand prize for showing off my sketching skills at the National Broadcasting High School Art Competition,” and “I am happy to know that age is not an obstacle to growth.”

Superintendent Kang Eun-hee said, “I would like to express my warm encouragement and respect to the graduates who have achieved valuable results, and I will continue to do my best to support the learning of those who have missed their time to learn.”
