2025년 을사년(乙巳年) 전국에서 초미세먼지 농도가 가장 낮은 맑은 숨의 젊은 도시, 야구 스토브리그를 끝으로 5개 종목(축구,배구,야구,배드민턴,육상) 50여 개팀, 1,300여 명의 선수들이 전지훈련을 위해 방문한 곳이 있다.

축구 -전국 유소년 축구대회 등 다수의 대회를 개최한 2면의 구장을 구비한 온정면의 축구장. 유소년 30개팀, 800여 명이 참가한 훈련은 소통·협력·매너 등 스포츠맨십을 배우는 기회의 장이 되었으며, 프로축구단과 대학축구부의 훈련은 유소년 선수들에게는 미래의 방향을 알려주는 나침반이 되었을 것이다.

육상 -이른 아침부터 운동장의 트랙을 조용히 돌고 있는 달리기 훈련이 한창인 육상선수들. 바로 웨이트훈련을 할 수 있는 헬스장으로 발길을 옮긴 육상종목의 첫 전지훈련 참가는 집중을 넘어선 다양성을 목표로 한 울진의 스포츠 경쟁력을 한단계 올린 것으로 기대한다.
