【브레이크뉴스 】이성현 기자=대구한의대학교(총장 변창훈) 반려동물보건학과는 지난 2월 10일 ㈜맘마멍냥과 한방 기반 펫푸드 제조 및 반려동물 건강증진을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 13일 밝혔다.

이번 협약을 통해 양 기관은 대구한의대학교의 한의약 전문성을 활용한 새로운 형태의 펫푸드 개발에 나선다.

정현아 반려동물보건학과장은 "기존 펫푸드를 뛰어넘어 한방 재료를 활용한 제품을 개발함으로써 학과의 특성화를 강화하고, 반려동물의 건강증진에 실질적인 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다"고 밝혔다.

협약의 주요 내용은 ▲한방 재료를 활용한 혁신적인 펫푸드 제조, ▲펫푸드가 반려동물 건강에 미치는 영향에 대한 과학적 평가, ▲사회공헌 차원의 펫푸드 레시피 공유 및 특강 진행, ▲펫푸드 창업 노하우 제공을 통한 학생 및 일반인 교육 지원 등 이다.

㈜맘마멍냥 김강상 대표는 "펫푸드는 반려동물 건강에 있어 중요한 요소이며, 대구한의대학교의 한의약 전문성을 결합한 새로운 펫푸드 개발은 K-펫푸드 산업을 선도할 중요한 기회"라며 협력의 중요성을 강조했다.

㈜맘마멍냥은 기능성과 기호성을 갖춘 펫푸드 개발 및 생산을 전문으로 하며, 150여 개의 수제 펫푸드 레시피를 보유하고 있다. 또한 펫푸드 교육 커리큘럼 운영, 기호성 증진을 위한 조리법 연구, 한방 재료 적용 경험 등을 기반으로 다양한 테스트 및 노하우를 축적하고 있다.

한편, 대구한의대학교 반려동물보건학과는 한방 기반 펫푸드 제조 관련 교과목을 운영하며, 국내 반려동물 펫푸드 산업을 선도하는 역할을 수행하고 있다. 이번 협약을 통해 학생들에게 실질적인 창업 역량을 키울 수 있는 기회를 제공하고, 산업 경쟁력을 한층 강화할 것으로 기대된다.

Mammamongnyang specializes in the development and production of functional and palatable pet food, and has over 150 homemade pet food recipes.
